repair disk error "unable to bootstrap transaction..."

My iMac was running slow so I rebooted. That still did not seem to help so I did a permission repair which was fine. I then did a Verify Disk which produced several errors and finally said that verifying was stopped and to restart in Recovery Mode and re-run Repair Disk I did that and it said that my hard drive was fine. I confirmed that the volumes matched. After repairing the hard drive from the Recovery Disk I re-ran Repair Disk and I received the same error again. This is the detail of the repair:

The volume 942D6C72-DC32-4171-80E2-C3AFC1D07237 was found corrupt and needs to be repaired.

Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.

I am not seeing any performance issues right now but figure that I should do something about this (I do have time machine running so I am well backed up).

Suggestions?

Well, this is a logical volume failure. Your filesystem is corrupt. Do you have filevault enabled? if so, your recovery partition will run into problems attempting to repair your file system. Decrypt your volume, boot back into recovery, and run the repair disk again.

This issue has been reported with FileVault 2. It seems to be more common with SSD's.

Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a Recovery system on a USB storage device. All existing data on the device will be erased.

Boot from the device and run Repair Disk again. If you get the same result that you got from live verification, and the repair fails, erase the volume and restore from a backup. You must have at least two complete, independent backups of all data before erasing a volume.

Alternatively, deactivate FileVault, repair the volume, and then (if you wish) reactivate FileVault.
