Upgraded MacBook Pro to 10.8.5 but no longer detects any WiFi networks!

Was working just fine prior to today's upgrade from 10.8.4 to OS X 10.8.5 (12F37) - Serial W8*******71C

Wi-Fi: Looking for networks... does not look up any availanble networks home or usual suspects around me.

I have upgraded my mac mini (late 2009) to OS 10.8.5 and now it finds 5 ghz network only! In 2.4 ghz range it seems to have a very very low sensitivity. Of course before the upgrading everything worked fine. As soon as possible I'll test some workaround.

I tried this. Brought imy Wifi back but issue returned after a system restart.

Fixed! Nothing with OS but just the antenna's cables removed by apple center guys (grrrrr....) during the ram upgrade.

Well......a little toooo enthusiastic I'm afraid re earlier post of success ....... yest it worked ok until I restarted the notebook..... and I was presented with the same problem.....can't turn the WiFi on.

So re did everything again....and sure enough it worked - ie could connect via wifi.

Obviously, when you power down the issue returns.....btw, if you are in sleep mode the wifi capability remains.

This worked for me on my macbook late 2008. All others please note that the directions call for deleting the Wi-Fi network from the left panel in network preferences. This is not the same as deleting the list of network names. Just in case you made the same mistake as I did, at first! Thanks for the solution!

Me again. Actually, this is not a permanent fix. Same problem as others had on restart. For the time being, I'm stuck with this procedure each time I reboot.
