Netflix - an error occurred loading this content

I consistently get the error "an error occurred loading this content " only when watching Netflix on my Apple TV. All other apps on Apple TV work correctly and I can watch Netflix on PC or iPad and don't get the error. I've tried all combination of things that I've read online but the error persists. I've had the same Apple TV for years without this error. Started getting the error a few months ago but nothing has changed on my home networked. Same bt homehub and connect to Apple TV through Ethernet. Only solution is to use down arrow/menu button to reboot every few minutes. Please can somebody advice on how I can resolve this. Thanks

I have been having this same issue, but it seems to manifest its self on my Apple TV, wii u, and Xbox 360.

However if I load it up from any computer, iOS device or android it works fine every time. This is all on the same network. I have talked to Netflix, and they told me all my devices must be going bad at once :-/ and there was nothing that could be done. I have had my Apple TV swapped at the store and that did not change the issue. It's really weird.

For me I only get the Netflix error message when I need to do a software update for the Apple TV. After I update, it always seems to work fine again. I don't know why the updates would affect it, but that seems to be the pattern.

Thanks. ATV did it, router reboot did not.

Netflix now happy again.

Go to Settings > General > Restart.

Same problem, frustrated me for weeks, finally looked it up and found this thread and tried the restart - WORKED FOR ME 🙂

Hum well I kept getting the same message error " An error occurred while loading content" so I did a reset ! whola ! I'm back in business with Netflix ! I think the cache gets fragmented so I think the reset cleans up the mess. Anyway thanks to this community we can tweak out problems , issues or concerns to keep our devices and apps running smoothly once again.
