iPhone 5 alarm not working

I'm having some problems with alarm on my iPhone5. I rely on this as my only alarm to get my husband up early for work - at least once a fortnight it fails to go off! I have lost count how many times he has been late for work as a result of this. Am I doing something wrong or is there a glitch with the alarm???

My daughter and I have both had this problem with our iPhone 5. Today we both used the same alarm we have been using the last two weeks and neither went off. I'm wondering if it's a network issue. it makes my daughter late for school which as big of an issue as missing work or possibly loosing your job. I seriously suggest that if enough people have this problem they consider a class-action against Apple. We've done resets and gone into the store for repairs and even had our phones replaced so the problem is obviously with the app.

As a college student I've been relying on my alarm every morning. As of this moment the only alarm I have had is my iPhones. When something you expect to work consistently stops working/performing it can cause some badrepercussions and feelings towards its maker. My alarm has hindered my school performance and I've; as of this morning, missed three classes. The one this morning was to present a final project idea. It may not be enough to make a lawsuit but it's very frustrating and will most likely cause me to look away from apple products in the future.

You're not doing anything wrong. This has happened on my 5S and now my 6. It's completely random. It happens about 25% of the time.

The screen shows that the alarm is activated, just no sound or vibration. It's ridiculous and beyond annoying.

No, resetting or reformatting doesn't help.

Yes, I know how to operate my phone and its sound functions.

It's an Apple glitch, a longstanding one, but apparently not one widespread enough for them to address.

Dear Apple, do you think you can fix a simple alarm clock? If not, please call the Swiss. They seem to be good with clocks.

Thanks.

I experienced the problem several times, but it was because my iPhone was on 'do not disturb' mode.

If you're using this mode in the night for not being disturbed well… it works ! And your alarm clock won't disturb you…

If this is the problem, please put your phone on airplane mode instead. It is also better for your health, as it disables all the radiations.

Putting the phone in Do Not Disturb does not silence the built in alarm.

In my case, it does… Or it used to in previous IOS versions. I'm not using this functionality anymore since I experienced this problem so I cant tell.

Then there is something wrong with your phone. I've used DND and the alarm together since the DND feature was made available. DND only silences calls, alerts and notifications. It does not now and never has silenced the alarm when your phone is working as intended. The mute switch on the side also does not silence the alarm.

I made the mistake of setting a "wake up" event in the calendar or Reminder app. They ARE silenced by DND. But the Alarm in the clock app has never been silenced by DND OR the Mute switch. And, as DND has only been available in the past couple of versions, it's unlikely that it ever caused problems in older versions.
