R12+ App promotes Adult content - should it's rating be revised?
My daughter has downloaded an app which features sound bites, not unlike a ringtones collection but you can't use them for anything else.
The very first "sound" has the name of an absolutely vile **** clip from 2006.
I would expect most people who saw the title but didn't know what it was to be curious to google and see the clip - I know I did back in '06 when I saw it mentioned in an internet marketing forum, I think I got about 15 seconds in. Few people I know actually saw it through to the end, it really was gross.
So, where is the line drawn - if an app doesn't have the explicit content but promotes the content should it still be allowed to be R12+? Personally, I don't think so.
How do we get our voice heard by Apple?
And yes, I've read http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US but it doesn't cover what to do if you think a rating is being breached by an app. Even this system expects the discussion to be hardware centered - rather than looking at the itunes and the app store as a whole.
