I am updating to iTunes 11.1.0 and I get this error from the App Store. (see attached screen shot) I am running 10.8.5 on a 2012 MacBook Air.

Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions out there? Maybe this is just an Apple server issue?

Ok guys I MAY have a solution. I'm in the middle of restoring my iPhone to 6.1.3 software. I luckily saved a copy of the 6.1.3 update to my desktop so, with my poor iPhone in recovery mode, I can option + click restore and it gives me a dropdown of which software I want to restore my phone to. I took a quick peek and couldn't find any downloads for the old software, but if this works, I'll look a little harder for anyone with the same problem as me. I think the problem was "having" (it was a beta) iOS 7 and my iTunes couldn't understand the new iPhone software and the new download at the same time. I'll let yas know if I make any progress... has anyone else had success?

Thank you.

I had the same problem as already posted. I was having that problem for about a week now and I would keep returning to the App Store to update iTunes, when I thought of it, with an error message each time. Now I do need the update to move to iOS 7. Your link and directly downloading the new version seemed to' work around' a fault in the internal 'update' facility.

This problem, for me, has predated the overload problem faced by Apple these last few days.

It is all 'sweet' and I will now attempt to update to iOS 7. Wish me luck.

I have updated my phone to iOS 7. The whole process took 15 minutes - I have cable. (And this is the day after iPhone 5s went on sale in Australia!). Maybe other people's problems with slow updating is due to doing it directly to the phone, because the iTunes update they were using was not 'clean' or the overloaded system problem has been resolved?
