I use the two-step verification and, evidently, my iPhone was dropped from my verified somewhere along the line. I simply reverified it as a approved device and, voila, push notifications are working again and that annoying popup is no more. I might note that I was not notified of the need to reverify until I did a hard reset of the iPhone.

Fellas, The solution could be pretty simple. One of the reasons (which was in my case) was that I had "unchecked" the "Set Automatically" option in my iPhone Date and Time setting and had selected a Futute Date. Please check the Set Automatically option on and U must be through!

Note: If you are a candy crush addict (in my case... my son is one and it was his trick) - you might have set a future date to earn you more lives... and avoid the waiting period!

Rember to check your time and date setting to be Set Automatically!!

Cheers!!

Did a backup, reset to factory defaults, restore from backup, pop up persists. Signed out and back in, same. Now trying to verify and reverify. May have to do another reset? Between the sluggishness of iOS 7 (certain apps that have been rendered unusable such as Safari, it would take forever to type up this message, Autocorrect taking forever to kick in, etc). I cannot believe this update. I guess there's always a batch of users that have a HORRIBLE time with an update and this time around I'm in this batch. Thanks, Apple! Real top notch work, there!

Just tried date and time, mine was already set automatically. Maybe I should just have accepted factory defaults to see if the pop up is still there, I may do this later.

Had the ios7 notification issue and this worked a dream - thanks for saving me an hour of factory reset and restore!

I was going to do the Restore iPhone & then Restore Backup, then I found this simple solution:

Go to settings>itunes store & appstore>logout from the account

Turn off and turn on the idevice

Again, go to settings>itunes store & appstore>login

The logout, reboot and login option worked for me. However, I had to try it twice. The first time I did the logout, reboot and login the push notifications still did not work. When I tried it again for a second time, I logged off from iTunes, switched off my phone and let it off for atleast 10 minutes before restarting it. When I logged into iTunes, the push notifications started working.

I honestly don't know what made it work, but I though I share my experience and see if this helps anyone who is not able to get the notifications working after the first attempt.
