Connect the phone to iTunes. It needs to download some information and install it on the phone.

What're Facetime and iMessages (not?) doing?
Same here - imessage and facetime both say 'Waiting for activation'. Keep getting 'connect to itunes to use push notifications'.
I've connected and sync'ed - still nothing!
I am having the same exact issue. iMessage and Facetime say they are "Waiting for activation". Both work fine on my iPad but not my iPhone. I recently updated to ios7 today.
Everything that i have found on the developer boards says that if you reset your phone and set it up as a new iphone that the problem alleviates. I would hate to have to do that, however, unless it was absolutely necessary.
Anyone have any solutions?
Me too, and there was me hoping that all would be well, knew Apple would screw something up.
Can someone from Apple reply please, this is going to get bigger quite quickly.
Same problem. After update, no push notification. Keeps saying connect to itunes to use push notification. No imessage and no facetime.
mines the same... :'(
Backed up to iCloud. Factory reset phone. Restored from iCloud. It fixed it.
I really don't want to go that route. Will take hours with 64 gigs worth of stuff.
ive backed up to my laptop and factory resetting phone :/
Try this trick... it worked for me (RedSn0w deactivation fix)
don't worry about not having a developer account as mentioned in the article...the developer account was only necessary when it was still in beta mode.
thanku so much backing up & restoring worked
I have just completed a full reset and restore and notifications, FaceTime and iMessage are all now WORKING :-)
Restoring from a backup worked for me too! YIPPEE!
Did you ONLY restore from backup? Or did you need to do the factory wipe/reset AND THEN do the restore from backup?
