iTunes Radio stops after one song

Just downloaded 11.1 and started a new radio station. I continued adding bands while Radio played two songs from the original band. The third song played from a different band and when it was done, so was iTunes. The station just stopped with the Play control available. I clicked it and got a Nissan commercial followed by the third song (that just played). I hit skip. iTunes stopped again. I quit iTunes and relaunched. Went back to the station, hit play and got that same third song. I let it play out and it stopped again. Can't seem to do anything else.

I'm having a very similar issue. Here's what happened to me:

I created a station from a band and began to add other bands. The first few songs played correctly. At a certain point though, after 7-10 bands had been added, it played to the end of the song and then the station stopped. I can sometimes get it to play again but it just replays the last song again and doesn't advance to any other songs.

I can create a new station which seems to play normal.

I'm guessing there's a bug that happens when adding a certain number of artists to your station.

I think I got radio working now - 6 songs in a row so far!

Somehow iTunes is tied to Safari. Try this:

  1. quit iTunes
  2. open Safari>Preferences>Privacy
  3. click the "Details..." button under "Remove All Website Data..."
  4. find "apple.com" and Remove it then click Done
  5. launch iTunes and start a radio station - it should ask you for your password
  6. start listening to your radio station

If that doesn't work, try removing all of your cookies and website data.

I just downloaded the new Itunes and was excited about iRadio - but I too have the same issue.

I created one new station and it played ONE song then stopped. I tried the default stations at the top and Katy Perys station played, but none of the others - this leads me to believe the issue it not on my end. I deleted my custom station and created it again - this time it wouldnt play anything.

I tried logging out and logging back in - but it still wont work.

Back to Pandora until this gets fixed.

Hey all,

I was having this exact same issue in iTunes on my MBP and was able to resolve it. Apparently starting iTunes radio on an iOS device using the same Apple ID will fix the problem.

iTunes Radio on my MBP played one song and then stopped working. I started iTunes Radio on my iPhone and all of a sudden it started working on my MBP.

Give it a try. Hopefully it works for you as well.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with the problem. It's very frstrating; and thank you all for the discussion, but I only have 5 artists added to that station and never have had more than 8 or 9. It doesn't seem to be artist-list related (at least not for me). I can listen to a different station for a while (an hour?) and go back to the original [faulty] station and then it works again, but still only for a little while and then stops again. And the cycle continues.

Hope it gets figured out soon; I was really looking forward to a Pandora alternative...
