iTunes 11.1 podcast section wont let me remove old episodes list

I just upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and noticed the Podcast section changed, I had to resubscribed to all the podcast I listen to and then I noticed, I am unable to delete the listing of the old episodes, Once you subscribe, It shows not only the episodes currently downloaded, But a listing of all the old episodes too. I want to be able to remove the listings for the old episodes so that only the downloaded ones are showing, I used to be able to do that with iTunes 11.0, But now they changed it where you can no longer delete them from showing.

Doughboy and FrustratedPodcast, I couldn't agree more. And the fact that you can no longer sync podcasts between a PC and an iOS 7 device makes matters much worse. Here's an easy way to tell that Apple royally screwed up podcast management in ways it's highly likely they didn't intend: Add a downloaded podcast to a playlist and shift-delete from the playlist to get rid of it. Now go back to Podcasts and refresh. iTunes will download the very same episode again! That never used to happen, and there's no good reason for it to do so.

Not having the ability to delete older podcasts in "List" is a real problem for me. I very much dislike the other views and leaving podcasts expanded with all of the old ones means that list is unusable.

I'm also disappointed that music on my iphone no longer supports the podcasts. I cannot seem to manage them as well as I used to. At this point with itunes becoming more hassle than its worth, and my iphone not playing nice with the podcasts I might as well switch to an android phone.

I see all the posts about "changing to Android" etc...and you know you are not going to do it because you are under contract and sometimes that hassle is more than it is worth. Will you pay $300 plus the cost of a phone to change? I think not.

That being said, you can help help get this mess fixed by creating the world's longest post telling people to beware of upgrading to itunes 11.1 and ios 7. That also includes letting people know what they are in for if they purchase the new iPhone 5S.

If you didn't upgrade you wouldn't have been spending this time on the problem. Help others and you will wind up helping all of us who have been so unhappy with this software problem.

Respond to threads on Lifehacker, OS X daily and so on and you will get a fix faster than you think.

Just my 2 cents.

You mean, when my 4S contract is up in November and I'm looking at new phones, will I be looking to upgrade to a 5S or change platforms?

Well, at this point I'd be looking like a masochistic idiot to pay for another Apple product. The last two Ioses have been products of sabotage as far as I can see. There's been no advertising for the Windows Phone platform like Ios 6 and 7.

I'm out of contract. I'm going to play around with doubletwist and a buddies android. If I can get more hasslefree experience than iTunes 11.1, podcast app, and iOS7 then I'll probably switch. I only have an iphone b/c it was easy to take my podcasts on the go with me. To sum up my issues:

1) List view: I cannot delete old non-downloaded episods. I've listened to them already and deleted them for a reason. They now just clutter up my screen.

2) Podcast app: I was fine just listening through the music app. The podcast app does not follow the sync settings from itunes. I've had to manually manage what displays on there even though I don't even have itunes syncing some of them.
