I too greatly dislike many of the changes introduced in iOS7, and have decided to stay on iOS6 until some problems are fixed or I am forced to upgrade. However, after reading the past 10 pages of comments one thing about the Calendar app is clear to me, and users should think about.
The calendar function is integral to the iOS design, meaning that the data that represents your calendar events is stored in a way that many apps can access it, make chages to it and synchronize it with other systems (Google, iCloud, etc.) But the Calendar APP is just one way of doing that. Just like on your Windows or Apple desktop, the OS comes with a set of applications to perform common functions, but they are not necessarily the best examples of how to get the job done. In the case of the iPhone or iPad, Apple has provided an app that works, however poorly you may think it does. But you should not feel that this is the only "official" way to access and use your calendar data. You are often much better off using someone else's idea of how the calendar should be represented. And this goes for many other apps that come with bundled with your computer - desktop, tablet or phone. Try it, you might like it.
