iOS 7 Calendar List View Gone?

I agree my wife and I just upgraded to new OS. Terrible terrible terrible calendar. Confusing and not user friendly. The calendar design belongs on a Microsoft system, please change back apple!!

There is help at hand! (I've read that Apple are beta testing an iOS7 update that includes calendar list view, but this isnt available in the UK yet).

However, I have changed to FANTASTICAL 2:

This calendar app integrates with the iPhone/Mac/iCloud Calendar functions and looks just like the old iOS6 calander. It includes list view. Solved my problems all for less than £2.

I am confused as to where the list view is that has been said to have been added to iOS 7.1. Have not seen any improvements. This calendar is a definite step back for Apple, who always stressed making things simple

iOS 7.1 is still in beta and has not been released to the general public. If you are a developer and are using it, you should post any questions you have about it in the Developer forum. Discussion of beta software isn't permitted in the general forums.

Simple.. hmm, then it would be a succes story. Easy and 'just work' are the correct marketing terms.

Better? A matter of opinion. Innovative? Not even going to answer that.

I switched to Fantastical 2 also and almost all my issues dissapeared, love it, and my wife too! (the app that is..😝)

Yes, Fantastical is a great app (though I would disagree with the previous poster who thinks it looks anything like the calendar app in iOS 6). I'm sure also that Apple is very happy with the money they made off the sale. 😉

Yep, just loaded today's official 7.1 release and list view is back. However, I'm so used to using Week Cal now, I probably won't go back to using the iOS 7 calendar.

When II click on magnifying glass it only asks me to type in a search it doesn't bring back the list any other ideas, thanks

You are correct the magnifying glass just asks for a search if you find out any other way to bring it back to list plesse let us all know, thanks

iOS 7.1 integrates an event list for the day selected in the month view, but it only has room for three events. To see more, you have to scroll. I miss the true list view that showed all events for each day! Is it hiding somewhere, or did they really do away with it?

If you've upgraded to 7.1, there is a new icon just to the left of the search magnifying glass, which brings up the old list view.

I upgraded to 7.1 earlier today.

You point out exactly what I referred to in my earlier post: the list view now consists of a full-month calendar, below which are three lines of events for the selected day. If you have more events than that, you have to scroll to see them. Meanwhile the full-month calendar is taking up the screen with mostly irrelevant info.

No, you're missing the list view. What you are talking about is the moth view.

When you are in month view, the new icon will look like this:

That just shows the month without any details. Tap that icon (it turns red) , and you go into the old month view with the 3 events at the bottom for the selected day. Tap it again to go back to the white background, then select a specific day and it changes to the dreaded day view with all those gaps in the timeline. Tap the icon again, it turns red, and you have the old list view:

Hope I've explained this well enough for everyone to understand. It took a while to figure out how to get there, but the old list view IS BACK.

BTW, if you leave it in list view, every time you go back to the calendar, it will stay in that format unless you change it to another view.

OMG you're right, JD, and thanks. There it is, buried four taps deep. Never mind that it was one tap away in iOS 6; I'm glad to know it's still there. And I now realize that once you get there, you can toggle back to month view and return directly to list view. Nice. Apple's design philosophy seems to be, keep on tappin' and all shall be revealed.

I originally thought the 7.1 update didn't do much re list view, and I originally decided to stay with Fantastical.

But now I've seen this I quite like it. I'll switch back to Apple iCal and see how I get on with it...
