iOS 7 Calendar List View Gone?

Thats odd, all I can get is that particular day in the "list view"

Got it. A bit convoluted to get to list view but its there.

It is convoluted. How JohnnyDawg figured it out (March 10 in this thread) I dunno. Takes like four successive taps to get there. But once you get there there, you can stay there. You can toggle to month view, returning directly to list view.

Thanks SO MUCH for pointing this out. I thought it was gone. I really like the way it will stay in list view even when going back and forth to the month view. It is most decidedly NOT user-friendly though. It almost feels like someone at Apple hates the list view and wants to bury it.

Thanks for information, I hope that Apple will understand what the customer wants and does make the fix. I'm not happy with the change to the calendar and find it funny that it's only affected on my iPhone as my iPad and iMac calendar are not affected. Again thanks!

When I bit the magnifying glass, it open a search field. I do 't want to search, I want to see a list of my day's calendar entries, and without the summary above. This is a terrible change to the calendar.

Goldenhill, see my March 12 response in this thread, then look further back at JohnnyDawg's from March 10. List view is still there but weirdly buried. I think we can all agree, the implemention was cleaner in in iOS 6. It's still there in 7.1, but not at all intuitive to find.

What you have to do is get it into month view, click on a day, and then click on that icon (with the year in the top left hand corner)

Yes, I'm a bit disappointed that this fix isn't on the iPad, but I mostly use it on my iPhone anyway.

I want to add my disappointment to the list in hopes Apple will pay attention and enable teh full lsit view. The current interface is a waste of time and distressing.

Yeah, after fussing around with it for a while, I got it to toggle back to true list view, which I greatly prefer, but because I don't know how I exactly got here, which means I will continue to be worried that I will accidentally slip back into the "split" view which is basically useless on the small screen of an iPhone.

The deal seems to be this: The list icon (to the left of the search / magnifying glass icon) is a toggle.

Hold the phone vertically. If you're in month view, and that icon is red, you see all the days of the month with a 3-item scrollable list of events for the selected day. Tap the icon; it's no longer red, and the short list of events disappears. Now if you tap a day, it'll open in list view. Once in list view, the list icon toggles between list and day view.

The catch is that if you return to month view from day view, you must return to day view before you can toggle back to list view. A further complexity is that list view only works with the screen held vertically.

It's a confusing bit of design. Things were a lot more obvious in iOS 6: you just tapped where it said "list" and it would always go into list view. But if you play with this iOS 7.1 Calendar you'll find that it does follow rules, and its behavior is repeatable.

Just upgraded from iOS 6 to iOS 7.1, and not happy with the changes. I certainly don't like what Apple did to the Calendar App, because it's not as user friendly as it was before and I don't like the colors, they aren't as soothing as in iOS 6. If it wasn't broken then why fix it Apple?

I also don't like all the white screens in iOS 7.1, makes things too bright. Apple even ruined the Notes App, the yellow/white icon is terrible. And what happened to the Font choices for Notes?

I would sometimes stumble on the list view by accident, thanks to you, I now know how to get there on my own. Thnaks Dawg

Although this will show a list view for that day i need to see all items from previous & future months without having to click on each day individually - A view solely of listed items used to be available but no longer with the latest update. This makes it very possible for me to miss an upcoming event until the last moment when my alert rings (Now Max 1 week).

Is there a list option or do i have to wait/Hope until the next update?
