iOS 7 Calendar List View Gone?

Just updated to iOS 7 and it looks like List View in Calendar is gone? AAACCCK! With multiple shared calendars enabled (my wife's, kids school events etc.) I'm finding it very hard to see what my day(s) look like without scrolling like crazy through graphical representations of events. I'm accustomed to just viewing the list and scanning by color of events (for example my work calendar is green).

Am I missing a setting somewhere, or is this a casualty of the redesign? I'm hoping the former, but if it's the latter I'm about to cry!

Fine. Submit your feedback to Apple and then, until Apple does (or in case they don't) make a change, find an app in the App Store that works for you.

Meg: find an app in the App Store? Um, that's one of the basic, KEY applications that most users utilize on a daily basis. They use the native calendar app because it syncs to iCal seamlessly. Do you actually think people want to use/learn a completely different calendar app because Apples implementation failed? I don't think so, thats why we are here voicing our opinion on why we dislike it....greatly.

I have to agree with everyone else. Although the new calendar may have some benefits, I also used the List View to seperate out work and home tasks. I should not have to go through the extra steps of clicking on the magnifiying glass and then clicking out of it to add a calendar item. Additionally, I should be able to quickly click on a day and see all calendar items associated with that day instead of jumping between screens to accomplish the same thing the previous versions allowed.

Completely agree with the opinions stated here and have provided constructive feedback to Apple.

I almost exclusively used the list view, occasionally using the month view. The previous version of the calendar on iOS 6 was as close to perfect as I've ever seen. I referred to it multiple times per day. I just don't understand why Apple would take away functionality. Obviously, this was a huge mistake.

I might as well pile on.

I, too, relied heavily on List view, which for me is the default view I almost never leave.

So I too need to be able to add a new event from this view rather than waddle back and forth like on so much of the Droid interface. Keep being better than Droids!

Restor the List view to an actual view status instead of the search feature, or at least let us add and edit events while in this view.

COME ON!

You and others suggest we "go buy an app" rather than fuss about the poor redesign of the calendar function. You don't get it. I buy Apple products to run Apple software. I expect that that Apple software is going to have simple functional design elements, and that incremental changes will add to, not subtract from, that functionality. I have little or no interest in messing around with 27 weird apps to find the least objectionable one to backstop Apple in an area where Apple used to be able to satisfy me - i.e., the Calendar. Rather I want Apple to fix their misguided change.

The reason I switched from my Sprint phone to an iPhone in the first place was because the Sprint software and other support available could not properly sync contacts, calendars, and mail accounts from the phone to my iMac. Yes I could have avoided the iPhone if I used Microsoft mail/calendar systems which sync nicely, but I would rather stay with iMacs and iPhones and iPads and Mac Pros.

smh

This new calendar is such a bummer. I appreciate the graphics, but the navigation is awful. I'm not someone who can't handle "change" either...wouldn't simply suggest the "old" one back simply because I'm cranky...this is just not functional. Processes that were 1-2 steps are now several. Even seeing appointments is lengthy (the full-day view like iCal vs. the former bullet-point list...which was AWESOME).

We believe in you Apple. That's why we keep coming back for more...I'm on board, but this is such a step backwards. You know what to do.

This is just absurd. The old app was absolutely fantastic. I used month view all the time, with the list of appointments below it. I could see if there was an appointment on any given day, click that day and see a summary below. I have 7 exchange accounts linked to my phone for different teams I'm in and appointments are booked from all those teams. It was nice and easy to view what was going on.

Now if I want to see what I have planned I have to go in to each day one-by-one and it's bloody time consuming. Please put it back the way it was. I use my calendar about 25 times a day, it is absolutely mission critical to me. The new calendar is simply unworkable and unless it's fixed I'll have to dump the iphone and move to Samsung or something when my telco contract ends in November. No wonder Apple is losing market share so rapidly.

I don't care if you fuss about the redesign or not. I've repeatedly provided the Feedback link so that people can let Apple know how they fee. But, even if Apple changes the Calendar app, it won't happen immediately. So, you can be unhappy about the situation or you can use something else that might meet your needs just as well. It's up to you.

If you buy Apple products and run only Apple software, you're missing out on a whole lot of great stuff.

Almost any calendar app will sync with iCal. It's the account that matters, not the app. I've been using an app called Cal for a while now. Beautful interface, syncs "seamlessly" with iCal and Google. You probably wouldnt' like it though as it looks not unlike the new Calendar app.

Voicing your opinion here accomplishes nothing. Submit your feedback to Apple using the link that has been repeatedly provided. In the meanwhile, you can struggle with the calendar you hate or look for something that works better for you. I fail to understand why suggestions for an immediate (possibly interim) solution as seen as somehow insulting.
