iOS7 missing podcast list in Music app
Did it get moved anywhere? It's referenced in Settings (Lyrics & Podcast Info), but it's not showing up in the actual Music app.

So glad I updated my iPad before my iPhone and then discovered this post. I also mix podcasts, music, audiobooks, and iTunes U in playlists. (I think a better distinction is audio vs. video files.) I'll be holding out on updating my phone as long as I can, now, as this is a daily-use function for me.
One of the cardinal sins of software design is taking choices away from users. One of the follies that leads to that is not understanding how customers are using your products. By the posts here, this is clearly not an edge case.
I've always been annoyed that many apps don't (or can't) utilize the Equalizer. Apparently, only the Music app uses this. I was hoping the Podcast app would also use the EQ, but it looks like that's a no go.
It would be nice if the EQ worked for any music related app (like Downcast or something). At the very minimum, I don't understand why the Podcast app wouldn't utilize the EQ.
After using Podcast App, all the past podcast files are removed. They are files from paid subscription.
So, I feel like Apple removed music files I've purchased withoug no notification, no appologies, no comments at all. Apple has such many employees, but it seems nobody using Podcast App seriously, or their comments and feedbacks are ignored by the stupid managements with full of flatulance.
I breezed through most of the responses, but was this addressed?
I'm not seeing the episode info anywhere when I'm playing a Podcast in the app...(ie. the description that often comes with timestamps) Am I missing something?
What could they have been thinking?? Hey, I like the Podcast app reasonably well when I am using the iPhone in stand alone mode but in my car just about the ONLY thing I want to do is listen to podcasts and the car ONLY talks to the music app's folder system so this has pretty much ruined the podcast scheme on the iPhone and all for what? To try to herd us into using the Podcast app? Grr! I guess all we can do is sit back and hope that Apple gets around to dealing with this issue. :-(
To make things even worse, Siri refuses to help with podcasts. If I say "Play Podcasts." she says that she can't play any podcasts. If I tell her to "Launch Podcasts." she tells me that I don't have an app called "Podcasts" despite that app being right there on my phone. It's like Apple is doing everything they can to make podcasts impossible to listen to. It's not like they couldn't have just not screwed this up...they could have just done nothing and it would have been a lot better.
I found a solution to play my podcasts mixed with my music, with the app music. In Itune, just select the postcast files you want to listen to, go to obtain informations / options and set the media type to music instead of podcast. These files will be considered as music files and you will be able to listen to them with the music app

Let me guess, then you won't be able to listen to the podcasts in the Podcasts app, right? ;-)
That's right, but I don't want to. This solution is not perfect. In fact if you want to listen to them in the podcast app you can change back their media type to podcast.
This is a very kludgy way of dealing with it. I download tons of podcasts and having to manually convert each one to a different media type is a total pain in the ***. Also (I'm just guessing here because I haven't dont this) I assume it will no longer sync just my unplayed most recent 10 sorted in reverse chronological order without me having to set up a smart playlist for every single podcast I subscribe to.
it is a pain in the a** ... i too have tons of podcasts and to convert each one is time consuming... and you have to manually check or uncheck the episodes you want ... pain in the a**
Having the same issue, I listen to Bob and Sheri podcast, so now it plays the 9:00 hr first and the 6:00 last, what a pain, if you find a solution will you please let me know?
be sure to arrange them by "release date" in your playlist that way they will play in order
I use the Downcast app rather than the Apple Podcast app. I just like it better. It is a little less glitchy and I like the way it updates my subscriptions.
