IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

After update, wallpaper stretchs larger than image. Unable to resize smaller to fit screen. My photo only measures 24k @ 261x231 and is HUGE; bigger than the screen can accommodatem (shrink). Cannot resize smaller to fit screen. Any ideas/suggestions? I have tried resizing my photo (smaller crop in size and dimensions) and photos render too large for screen. Cannot resize smaller to fit. I know I am repeating myself. Just to be clear. Am I doing something incorrectly in IOS 7? Any ideas/suggestions or similar problems solving input would be appreciated.

No true Apple user cares about work arounds. We are talking here about errors in Apple programming that has been there simce the release of iOS 7.0, years ago.

This is about the disconnect at Apple with their own programming.

I just want to add to this rant fest in the unlikely event that anyone at APPL cares. Updated my ipad today to ios 7.x....BIG mistake. Deleted all but 56 of my 3,800 songs, at least half APPL purchases. I HATE the ugly new Telletubby colors. The spam icons set as favorites on Safari...cute. BUT, this Wallpaper fiasco takes the cake for arrogant boobery. Wallpaper worked one-clik on fing Windows 95. And these APPL clowns not only broke it, shipped it, but then could look at this flaming here for the past seven months and STILL not fix it. I'm NEVER buying another APPL product.

I can add that if Apple is going to treat their customers like this.... by not listening to their true customer-base that has supported them thru the hard times, you will see Apple standing out in the cold soon. The customers will abandon them just like Apple has abandoned this post. Samsung has taken the lead in my opinion. I own the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, iMac, ect. I also own a Samsung Galaxy S4. I am going to use my iPad still but I am going to go out and purchase the new Galaxy Tab Pro. This device is more tailored to by business. Apple wants to control their devices and not allowing customers to customize the devices to enhance the customers experience. I am finally starting to see great products from other companies so Apple really needs to step up their game. Let's hope they deliver. All I can say is that the proof is in the pudding... check out the stocks... they will tell the story.

Back in the dim and distant iOS7.0 days I was recommended the WallpaperFix app, and it worked. Since 7.1 I've been in touch with the dev and he reckons it's not as good as it was (that is to say, 7.1 has trashed it), but it still works for me- and I use my iPad exclusively in landscape. Try it- it's sixty-nine English pennies (99c if you're in the US). I'd also recommend not committing to 7.1, but it may be too late for that.

Good luck!

Wow, 57 pages. Good job, guys. You're the reason why everyone thinks Apple users are just dumb hipsters.

So here's what you do, I'll make it simple for you guys:

1) Go to the picture you want.

2) Tap anywhere on the photo to make the background turn black.

3) Press the Home button and Lock button at the same time to take a screen shot.

4) Go to your shiny new screenshot.

5) Use this screenshot to set your background!

You're welcome. But seriously, Apple, pick up your game.

LeavingAppleInTheDust, thanks for clearly displaying your intimate knowledge of Apple products and how closely you've read this thread.

The solution you mention has already been proposed, and as clearly mentioned by several people, it doesn't work.

I have an iPad2 and when attempting to use any photo, including a screenshot with a black background, as a wallpaper or lock screen image, it is immediately zoomed in and cannot be unzoomed.

Thanks again for your brilliant insight!

One can only assume that apple do not want their customers to use their own pictures as wallpaper, but do not want to actually say so.

How else can it be explained that a picture 30 pixels by 30 pixles (about the size of a finger tip, 900 pixels total) gets zoomed in so much you can only see the central 225 pixels?

Perhaps it's becasue when you see somone using a tablet device with a random picure it could be made by anyone (in a case, only the screen visible, not the logo on the back) but when it has the "mandatory apple wallpaper" (becasue no other wallpaper will actually work) it acts as advertising- "THIS PERSON IS USING AN IPAD."

Just a thought.....

I cannot even describe my overwhelming disappointment for this 500$ piece of junk. Not only is the autocorrect feature a moron. But now there is this supersize feature that is total and utter carp gimmicky bull. What gets me are developers are aware of this stupid and fixable problem they are just too ignorant to change it. FIX IT I have officially decided I will never buy another one of these for this reason it takes you 2 freaking years to fix a simple problem complete waste of money to but anything with an I IN FRONT OF IT. Should have went with a galaxy. The fact that I have to mess around with it in a thousand ways to get a perfect fit is stupid.

1. Fix auto correct throw some grammar in there

2. Supersize me function ... Moron who ever thought of this function complete moron

3.LISTEN TO YOUR COSTUMERS AND QUIT MAKING STUPID USELESS FEATURES!!

If I could afford a new phone right now I'd go out and buy it and never look back do not buy the iPhone it's awful you can get better phones with better features that are not as expensive. Even my Motorola razer was better than this iPhone should try that new middle that everyone has seen with the holograms lets hope someone else beats then to the punch

I'm annoyed and fed up paying for garbage and this phone is garbage also I wanna point out that all the resources from these phones are not ethnically sourced. And you're gonna ask for another 100$ for this junk? Do t bother.

Well that answers that. I wondered if IPad Air had this issue fixed. Apparently not. I been trying all the various suggestions. None really work and why do I have to spend that amount of time on such a simple thing?! I want My pics etc to fit into My IPad screens! **** it Apple Listen Up! This is my first apple purchase I'm surprised by how unresponsive they've been to this,..looks like it's a problem for a lot of people. And on the iPhone too. Bad customer service. There has been at least 2 maybe 3 iOS updates since I bought...can't slide this fix in? I'm now thinking if a different brand - was considering iPad mini for carry around. by time u put a good case on big one and with the other stuff in my bag...too heavy. And will stay w android ph. I'd figured got iPad, perhaps I'll match phone up. But not w this kind of customer service.
