Is there a place to report bugs? Or just sit and wait?

Here's the suggested sizes for lock screen and wallpaper photos for the various devices that can run iOS 7:

    Parallax Screen Shots

You need to add an extra 200 pixels on each side of the wallpaper. Using your image processing app, increase the image size to one of the following, depending on the device you’re targeting:

    iPad 2 and iPad mini: 1,424 x 1,424

    iPad 3 and iPad 4: 2,448 x 2,448

    iPhone 4S: 1,360 x 1,040

    iPhone 5: 1,536 x 1,040

I'm having the same issues.  Photos that fit no problem are now huge on my phone and I can't shrink them to fit.  I tried the work around, but the motion thing was off already.  Now instead of seeing my dog I just see his nose.  ***?  That was one of the things I loved about my iPhone, the photos always stayed normal size as wallpaper.  Now it acts like my husband's android phone or my old Blackberry.

I'm using photos that I took with the iPhone.  never needed to edit them before the ios 7 update.  Now they're huge!

The dimensions that you gave for iPad 4 are a square, so when you use these, you still get cropping of the image since the screen is not a square .... Or am I missing something??

And actually leaving the motion setting on actually gives me a smaller picture (but still not fitting perfectly like it did before I updated the software) than if I turn it off.

    That's good info! Thanks!

Got any pointers on how to stop the folders changing colors based on the background picture?? I that too...

I changed the res on an image to 2448 x 2448.. what i found that it displays at 2417 x 2448... but that still zooms a tiny bit... I think this is a bug.. has to be...

After playing around for a while, I finally figured this out.

If your wallpaper is something that you want to have precise size (like picture with quotes), then this is what you need to do :

Add 20% width and 20% height from your "original screen size".

For example, iPhone 4S size is 640x960, so the wallpaper size should be 768x1152.

BUT, please make sure that the quote or whatever you want to be visible in your screen, stays within the inner area of 640x960. So the extra 20% will be treated as out-of-screen by iOS7, and will appear a little when we tilt our phone.

For different screen resolution, you can calculate yourself by adding 20%, but making sure your "main content" stays within the inner area of original width x height.

Or, there is another way to turn off this whole parallax effect and get iOS6 behavior.

Go to Settings > General> Accessibility > Reduce Motion then turn on the switch. This will give you perfectly still wallpaper with iOS6 behavior.

Actually it doesn't.  I did the same thing above, turning on motion and pic is still huge.  When it fit fine prior to update.

Having to adjust anything other than wallpaper position and size is fruitless.   I've resized and tried some settings as suggested here and none of these ideas fix the issue of 'resizing wallpaper smaller' to fit the screen on iPhone 5 using IOS7.  If I can expand my image, I should be able to make it smaller by pinching within the wallpaper settings.  Having to modify anything in settings other than my reported problem is unacceptable.  This is obviously a bug, easily fixed by the 'wallpaper team'.   Question is; HOW LONG will it take to fix.  I decided to take a photo using my phone of a black matte paper and using that for my bacground.  Surprisingly with the transparent folders I have created and everything else stands out really well.  I hate that I cannot put up my usual Vatican and Redwoods wallpapers because they cannot be resized properly in IOS7.   So far, not impressed with ANYTHING IOS7.  This could be the breaking point for me on iPhone.   I've had the original, 3S and now the 5.  I have had nothing but disappointment with i5, whereas my 3s was flawless.  I really don't like the ALL CHANGING features at once that Apple did with this.  My phone doesn't even feel like 'my phone' anymore.  UGH...

I had the same problem on my iPhone. Just download the instasize app then zoom out the photo you want, make sure it's smaller then save it. When you try to set as a wallpaper, just zoom to the right fit, Boom! Just like ios6 !

Hi, i finally found a solution, if you dont want your photo to be cropped just take a screenshot of the photo where it is in the photo gallery, and than set it, Let me know if this doesn't work

  • harmajo Level 1 Level 1

Still getting cropped for me unfortunately.
