I use custom pictures on my lock screen and in previous iOS version I could scale them manually. With iOS 7, however, they automatically resize to fit the screen which I don't want. How do I turn this off?
Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion - On
That doesn't work.
I have several pictures that are wider than they are tall and in previous version I could let them fit the width of the screen and let the top and bottom be blank - and therefore black - which looks nice since they're bland and white and fade into black around the edges. Now they automatically stretch to fill the entire screen.
Looks like that is just the way it is.
Apple has designed iOS 7 with paralax and layers in mind. I assume that since the background bleeds through to the folders and overlays, they want to make sure something is behind it.
That's unfortunate but at least I know there wasn't some strange setting I was missing. 🙂
IMO..minor annoyance compared to the improved functionality
It looks like a massive fail to me on the QA aspect, one of many in this release. I see that it impacts my iPad 3, Daughter's iPad 4 as well as coworkers with iPhone 5 and 4s' the same. I guess they don't want us to be able to actually customize our devices with unapproved pictures.

It's like the programmers were so excited about the panorama and parralax feature they didn't think about keeping a wallpaper centered with the entire photo!
When I try to move the picture down so someone's head isn't chopped off of the screen and there is plenty of picture above them still, it's a QA fail. Perhaps I can just resize all my pics to fit the screen size and get it the way I want it.
This is a big problem for me. Now people's eyes are under the time. Looks dumb. I will look for photos other than the one I wanted to find something that works better. But that's the way it is seems to be the answer but not a good one. FAIL!!
This is frustrating, I hate having my pics on screen that u cant even see, cuz they dont fit ! please please fix
Totally agree, it's a total fail by apple, you don't expect to buy a device for say $700 and not be able to set a picture as a wallpaper how you want it, if I want a whole person in my wallpaper I should get that, not have ios 7 tell me I can only have half the person and not be able to scale down,
Hi, i finally found a solution, if you dont want your photo to be cropped just take a screenshot of the photo where it is in the photo gallery, and than set it, Let me know if this doesn't work
