I managed to plow through the things people have had problems here and got my iPad2 going with ios 7.

It either has a major bug or I don't know what I'm doing. The onscreen keyboard is agonizingly slow, to the point of being unusable, when typing in Mail and Pages. It takes many seconds to respond.

Apparently some iPhone people are having the same problem - a thread on their forum - and from that advice was to reset all settings. Did so, and typing at first was fine until I launched Safari and connected to internet and then it quit working again.

Unless I find the fix - would appreciate any help! - this makes my iPad2 unusable and I'll revert to ios 6 if I can figure out how to do it.

My iPad 2 now shuts off randomly since I updated to iOS 7 today. especially when you go into the photo gallery and do anything. seems just a matter of seconds and the screen goes black and has to restart! Any way to rectify this?? It has pretty much rendered my iPad 2 useless until I can find a fix or downgrade it (which I dont think you can do anymore. the beta users were able to go back to iOS 6, but I never used a beta version. I waited for today to get the final release version.)

any suggestions would be welcome!

ive done two ipad 2 updates to ios7, bricked both devices so be warned, not a happy bunny at all at the moment.

both devices were stuck after the reboot with apple logo and the update progress bar on the black screen, been like this over 10 hours now. finally rebooted one device and its now asking for itunes sync so suspect its gone into recovery mode.

first was my wifes 64gb model which was viturally full, looks like all her pictures are lost, icloud storage space is far too expesive so this was never upgraded (yes my fault but why when you buy a 16gb model do you get the same icloud storage as a 64gb model) my thougths are it should be a percentage of storage compared to the device you bought.

called apple shop and i have to make an apponinment at a Genius bar to get help? but no appintments in the next 7 days. dont even want a drink just want the devices fixing :-)

iphone 4s and ios7, not really impressed, looks different but now a slow device. battery dropped 28% and its only been off charge for 90 mins.

also, when phone locked and we get a message or email, says below "slide to read" message! will somone tell me how? if i slide it switches screen to the unlock keypad so you cant actually read an indevidual message from the lock screen.

IOS 7 up and working on Ipad 2. No issues so far. Initial slowing esp with the keypad was seen, issue resolved on its own after some time. It takes a bit of a while to get used to, but visually its not as engaging as the previous version. Btw, installation does take time. And i believe having some free space, in the tune of around 2.5 GBs helps crank up the machine to a good start.

Just finished off the update to iOS 7 in my ipad2...till now there are no issues as far as the downloading and installing of the update is concerned..The photos, videos, mail are in tact..all fine all good..nice and fresh UI altogether...lot of new features...but the major findings are:-

1. Draining Battery Fast

2. Pictures going blurr/Hazy when used as Homescreen Wallpaper...Even HD ones as well 😟

Does anyone facing the same issue...??

Yes, finally installed last night after several failed attempts................and bitterly regretting it. If you've an ipad2 my advice wouldbe don't do it. I stupidly didn't create a back - up version of ios 6 either. The new interface is terrible. I like typefaces and graphic design and am very happy to see change but this looks really poor. Icons not distinct enough and the search page on safari is various shaded pale greys; the keyboard is very light and almost fades into the background. Battery life doesn't seem too bad. I really like the ipad and was looking at buying another one in October. I use an iMac and really like it and would be keen on an apple laptop too; well, I'm afraid that's gone. No route back to IOS 6 is very poor but par for the course I suppose; but therew ill be no new ipad later this year nor apple laptop. Hello Samsung it would seem.

Very disappointed indeed
