One week on from installing iOS7 - dont mind the look etc but started off with battery draining rapidly, shut down background refresh and that helped but accuracy of charge indicator never correct afterwards. Then random shutting down became worse and worse until iPad became unusable. Spent over 3hours on phone to Apple trying various methods to restore software, all failed including recovery mode. Spoke to a more senior rep from Apple only to be told that there was a hardware issue which had accumulated as a result of software upgrades and the only solution is to take iPad2 back to store and make a consumer law claim - sounds like Apple have cocked up bigtime and are hoping to lay off the problem on their re-sellers. very unimpressed. Steve would never have let this happen

Problem now resolved with Safari.

Wiped IPad. Restored Firmware and software to factory settings then restored backup.

All works perfect now on IPad 2. Must have been a glitch in the original update process that was done through ITunes. Perhaps the process of birthing IOS 7, on top of IOS 6. Clean slate and download of IOS through the full Restore, fixed the problem.

Thanks to all for their input.

Thanks for reporting your success. At least you seem to understand that things can and do go wrong with software updates. All it takes is one single bit to be wrong and things go haywire. Your solution was a bit drastic but, hey, it worked for you. Some people just sit there with their hands in their laps waiting for someone else to do something. Congratulations on your now functioning Safari and iPad.

I upgraded my iPad2 to iOS7, which I call "iUseless7" or "iUnlucky7", and will definitely not upgrade my iPhone 4S until they fix all the problems. The one that bothers me the most is the zooming icons. I turned "motion" off but that does not stop the endless zooming in and out every time you open to close an icon. In addition, I was not happy with the wallpaper choices and found the ideal (for me) solution: I took a photo of nothing (all black) and made that my wallpaper. It makes the icons easier to see. I don't understand why they changed the look and colors of some icons - they were fine before. Good luck to everyone who tries this version. I'll probably be among the users who switch back to iOS6 if Apple (a) makes that an option and (b) doesn't fix 7.

I updated to iOS 7 about 2 wks ago. Everything installed perfectly first time, but I rapidly began to have problems. I updated on iPad 2 & really wish I hadn't bothered. iPad keeps crashing & programs closing when I'm in the middle of using them. I also get the delay when typing. It doesn't seem to make a difference which type of program/app I'm using, (everything worked fine prior to update). Anyone any idea how to resolve these problems? Getting so frustrating, I'm on the verge of dropping it out the window :-(

I also updated 2 weeks ago and except for some settings changed and some initial lag with the keyboard, no problems at all.

Did you update iTunes on computer? There have been 2 updates since 11.

Did you do the updates on the iPad, also, 2 since ios7

These address some of the bugs. If you have a purchased App that is crashing a lot. Backup your data.

Delete the App, then download from the store again in purchases. That fixed my OfficeHD word processor App and is recommended for any damaged, crashing App.
