keyboard lag, keyboard lag in iOS 7

My Ipad 3 keyboard took 5 to 7 seconds per letter, but turning off documents & data seems to have worked so far. thanks!!!!

I did the reset all. I recommend as would Apple that before doing any reset that you syc & backup you iPhone on iTunes. My contact were all there after the reset however they had been reorganized inalphabetical order by last name rather than by first name as I had it originally. It's no big deal since you can just go into settings - mail, contacts, calendars & choose how you prefer to have things organized. As for the photos I can't say if you would loose them or not since I had no photos stored on my iPhone at the time.

Unfortunately the "reset all" was a temporary fix. After only about 3hrs I´m back to practically being unable to use my iPhone due to the keyboard lag. Therefore reseting only made me have to retype passwords etc and gave me a quick relief. Apple needs to send us an update to fix this bug ASAP.

I actually had this problem after I reset the settings because of another issue... I'm using an iPhone 4, and it seems it lags when using text apps such as Viber, Whatsapp, WeChat, Skype... also if I try to search for something on Safari.. I upgraded to iOS 7 and then did the other upgrade, and everything was OK until now..

Sigh ive done this twice already only to have it return was hoping for a permanent fix......agggggg o well

Hope this helps all. I finally deregistered and restored iphone 4s from iCloud and this fixed the problem. Have not had the keyboard lag on phone since doing this week or so ago. Make sure you have phone backed up to iCloud before doing. It made me a bit nervous to do this, was afraid I would lose folders, links, etc. However, did not lose them. I think you will want to make sure documents and data are included in your backup if you try this. Afterward, you might want to review all settings to make sure nothing important changed, such as in-app purchases. Best of luck to all, and really appreciate the many comments, goes to show this is a nuisance thing with the ios update.

In doing this, I did not try to restore to previous ios; 7 was already on the phone and I left that as is. I was not at all sure that the restore (not reset) would fix, but one other user had done this and it worked. All 4s iphone did not have this issue, so possibly the restore just cleaned out any remaining "trash" that might have contributed to the problem. There has been one additional Apple update to ios 7 that I downloaded, but this did not seem to affect keyboard lag at all.

My iPhone 4S 16GB has been turned into a vegetable ever since the IOS7 update. The screen is very unresponsive, the keyboard lags for anywhere up to 5 seconds at a time & iMessage only works when it wants to. It's almost unusable!

I have been following this thread very closely & have been putting some of your theories to the test. Unfortunately to no avail. I have tried 'resetting all settings', 'turning off & on, on & off documents & data on iCloud', I even restored my iPhone 4S back to factory setting & if anything the phone was even worse. I give up!

If anyone could be enlighten me on how to fix this would be most appreciated.

So I have the problem too... Was driving me crazy. Almost bought a new phone (together with an extortionate tariff)...

I disabled the iCloud Documents and Data as mentioned above, like this:

Settings

iCloud

Documents and Data

Turn off - confirmed

And hey presto, the keyboard works again without a 20 second lag time.

We'll see how long it lasts.

I did not reset the phone.

Here it is almost a month later and I upgraded today to iOS7. It still takes forever for the letters to appear when I type!!!!! However I will try all you suggested above. Thanks and I will keep you updated

Guys, I did a few of the solutions above. The ones I tried work only temorarly meaning a few hours. However as I expected, hoped & had confidence that would happen Apple just came out with a new update iOS 7.0.3 the new uptade fixed my keyboard lag as well as the issue of not receiving imessages.
P.S: Thank you Apple! This is why we or at least I love Apple! You guys listen to us and do what is necessasary. Keep it up.

The new 7.0.3 update has made no improvement to my keyboard lag at all! All these other solutions are only temporary fixes I'm afraid.

yeah, im having the same problems also with even swiping to the next ap screens, loading setting pages... i've been on tech support chat, call, in person. they do there little dance and not even hours later its back. cant belive there so called smartphones cant even text

When I updated to iOS7 on my iPhone 4S, I got the keyboard lag too, and decided to search it up. Found a really random fix, but works:

Settings>iCloud>Documents and Data, then flip it off. That saved it from the keyboard lag.
