Itunes 11.1 won't install on my Mac

.... It still says 11.0.5 for me. And now itunes says my software is the current version, but it's still 11.0.5. I'm talking about the hyperlink for the actual file, but I'm not positive as to how you could access it, as the button doesn't allow you to copy the source link and it isn't in the source code for that page..

Try going to the link (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) from safari. I was using chrome but for some reason the link goes to itunes 11.0.5. From safari it went to 11.1.

11.1 just miraculously showed up on the website for me after refreshing - maybe an error was going on? Try now if it wasn't working for you before 🙂

Me too. I stopped using Chrome and went to safari, then refreshed about 10 times, and it eventually showed 11.1.

Still no updates available in the app store though lol

Refreshing 25 times in a row never got it to show 11.1 for me. This is not so good.

And on number 26 it is there.

Well what I did for me was open your itunes then at the upper most left corner of your mac it says itunes then click on it and then click on "check software updates" and then it will ask you to download itunes 11.1 🙂

I had to go on Apple's website, click on Support, then click Downloads, then click iTunes 11.1, and the file was there for download. For some reason, my iTunes software (Windows) is still not finding 11.1 when I try to update iTunes directly from the program.

Update the security update first (which will restart your computer) and then go to software update. You should be able to see itunes 11.1 there

I am having the same problem now. I am running 10.6.8 mac osx but when i go to itunes and download the 11.1 it says download complete and successful but i am still not showing the update on my macbook. I went to the apple website and downloaded from there and successful again but itunes still showing the 11.0.4 that i had on there. Now when i go to itunes and click on software update it says newer version avaiable so i click download and then it checks for software and says it is up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Are you actually runing the installer. You d/l a .dmg - then you need to double click the .dmg file and follow the dialogs to install.

Every since I updated to ISO7 when I update my phone it tells me I need to have 11.1 I tunes. I have tried for days to do this. It says that it is downloading but it doesn't. I've shut the computer down, tried it the next day and nothing works. My calendar on my Iphone won't save events either. I have the Iphone 4s. Can anybody help me?

Crawl that is exactly what is happening to me, I have downloaded numerous times and it says successful but I get nothing updated and my phone cant sync to itunes now since i have ios 7.

MJ I have downloaded with the installer followed instructions and it says downloaded successfully. Huge problem because i cant sync my iphone now. I go to itunes after the download and it says there is a software update but when i click on the itunes update it searches for software update and says it is up to date. Its contradicting itself. It says new software avaiable but then it checks for software and it is all up to date since i have downloaded it about 10 times successfully.

I am having the same exact problem. I updated my iPhone 5 to ios7 when the update came out a few weeks ago and encountered this issue with Itunes on my macbook. I gave up and now a few weeks later am trying to sync my iphone.

Itunes keeps telling me I have 11.0.4 and I need 11.1.1 to sync my device; however, after downloading itunes from the apple website numerous times from both safari and firefox and having it successfully installed, itunes will not update - it still says its not updated regardless of the download I just installed. I get the pop up saying it needs 11.1.1, and after doing the software update check it says there are no updates. I've restarted my mac, I've shut it down and turned it on. I click on software update in itunes, but it says it's up to date, but when I check "About Itunes" it says 11.0.4. It contradicts itself, like those in this thread have experienced. Just round and round I go...

Any insight??
