iOS 7 and Audiobook Chapters

iOS 7 seems to have removed the ability to view individual audiobook chapters in the music app. It has also replaced the chapter length with the length of the entire book in the time scrubber. When tapping the top right-hand corner to access the list of chapters, now it only shows one file for the whole book, whereas before it listed all the chapters, just like it lists all the songs in an album. This change applies to my own audiobooks created using the Mac Audiobook Builder app and to Audible downloads. I haven't tried it on an iTunes purchased audiobook.

If I manage to lose my place, scrubbing (even using quarter-speed or fine) through a 30+ hour audiobook is...let's be polite and say "challenging." I really liked knowing where I was in a chapter, being able to see how much time was left, being able to view the list of chapters, etc. My hope is I'm just missing something here and some iOS 7 wizard can show me how to correct this. But I suspect Apple's just updated the app.

I don't have a question as I see from reading the forum that there is are no solutions to my issues. I just want to stick my voice in here somewhere. I only recently upgraded (??) from iOS5 to iOS7 on my iPhone 4. I put it off because I no longer look forward to Apple updates. Instead, I dread them. However, more and more apps no longer worked on iOS5 so I made the jump. What a mess Music and Podcast apps are now! I wish we had some control over how they behave and could make them work like they used to (i.e. perfectly in my case). I share many problems with others on the forum. I miss the chapters in audiobooks. I hate having to switch apps to listen to a podcast. I don't like having all the podcasts listed on the app instead of just those I haven't listened to. I can go on and on, but it has mostly been covered in the forums. The best thing said is that Apple must not have anyone who uses these apps, or, maybe worse, there is only one person at Apple who uses them and wants everyone to use them his or her way whether we want to or not. For a company whose reputation is founded on user friendliness, having customers dread updates because of the destruction to user-friendliness they'll do, well, not a good thing. This seemed to have all started after I got my kid and wife off of windows and onto Macs and have an iPad and iPhone. I guess they figure I'm hooked and they don't have to worry about me anymore. I don't like they way they want to (and succeed at) force me to do things their way instead of my way (their way in the last version).

This thread startet Sep 18, 2013 2:34 PM and NOTHING IS HAPPEND ONE YEAR LATER!

All bug reports around M4B audiobooks are closed, because duplicated with 15004321:

- Scrubbing inside chapter

- Chapterlist

- Showing chapter play-time

- Showing chapter rest-time

I also hate how itunes does this. It's useless.

I use the audible app for everything now and no longer use itunes for any listening. I would suggest to people to never buy a book from itunes either. audible is cheaper anyway.

The biggest problem for me is there is no audible app for mac computers (just ios). I would like to listen to books while i cook, but there no way to do it except through headphones.

I mean, I could do it, but your place gets lost and the scrubbing function doesnt work, so its useless.
