Email problem with ios 7

Have one email account, after downloading ios 7, that is counting all the emails in the account as unread, but is showing they've been "read". Can delete the emails, but does not count them as deleted. Anyway to fix besides deleting the account?

I highly doubt that this is NOT an IOS7 issue. Every iteration of iPhone hardware and IOS that I have used prior to IOS7 has had no problems with 'phantom' email. Now I have this recurring problem for my Yahoo!, Exchange, and gMail accounts. Occam's razor. There is indeed a problem with mail in IOS7. I can generally clean thing up by visiting Apple Mail on my laptop to sync things up.

I have an iPhone 4s, upgraded to the newest ios 7 program. I use Comcast for my eamil. A week ago I was not able to receive emails, but could send them fine. I deleted the account, twice. This was no help. I addded a secondary Comcast account and it works fine. I added a yahoo account, this one works fine. My primary Comcast now receives emails, but they are a month old.

I found a solution and its work for me , you may follow the below step -

for SMTP setting

HOST NAME - use your SMTP server provided by ur ISP /email/domain provider...

user name : use same user name you have used in incoming server.

password : use the same password you have used in incoming server.

authentication : select PASSWORD

hope it will work for you as well.... enjoy...

I'm sorry but do you know how this would work for other mail accounts like gmail or yahoo ? My accounts are downloading all of my emails, and they are showing up like 60000 on the badge ! My phone does not have sufficient space so it causes my phone to crash!!

I heard that its because I'm on POP and IOS 7 no longer lets you sync for "x" amount of days. So what is the work around for gmail and yahoo accounts??

If anyone sees this , PLEASE respond because I'm going crazy, my phone always crashes whenever I use any app!!
