Can't scale pictures since ios7 update

Since ios7 upgrade, I can't scale any pictures. My wall paper and lock screen on my ipad have massively increased the size of the images, and when I try to move & scale, it won't let me scale the pictures down any more. So my wallpaper now looks sh't and with the new menu soon feature when you access a folder from the home screen, it enlarges even more! Right annoying! And after spending nearly 5 hours downloading the thing. Grrrrrr

Same thing here... I just posted about this in another thread. I'm using an iPad 3 with now IOS 7.

I am in total agreement - as another post recently stated, 'What used to be a fun and easy way to change the look of your ipad/iphone has become too much of a hassle to even bother with anymore; downloading another app, resizing, taking a portrait screenshot, Etc etc'. * If someone from Apple should see this post, I personally (and I'm sure many others) would be somewhat appeased if this problem/issue was at least openly addressed rather than ignored.

I shrank the picture I want till it was tiny. It still overran the screen but was as grainy as you'd expect. Taking a screengrab with the two buttons didn't do the job either.

I have solved it. I used a very old standard PC-based photo editor (I bought it in 1998!) to increase the canvas size of my chosen picture. The original is 640 x 853 pixels. I left the pic that size but made the canvas 55% larger in each dimension - 992 x 1322 with the original centred within that. The extra border is pure white.

That fits the lock screen in portrait mode perfectly.

You'd think that between September and now, iOS 7.0.4, Apple would have been able to sort the "shrink" feature. I would also be horrified if it were my company and nobody was reading a forum like this. Poor show, Apple.

I've sold my shares. It's only a matter of time, now. The competition is catching up fast.

Agree with Furry Jake 110%. Presented the problem to the "experts" in 3 different Apple stores -- CLUELESS. Already switch my phone to Samsung and hoping someone steals this ipad so I can switch there as well. This is PITIFUL. Even my old early generation blackberries had NO PROBLEM using any photo as wall paper. My ipad used to be beautiful, looked like a Renoir.....now, TELETUBBIES! Apple, you blow.

This has recently become an annoyance to me, since every image I download for the internet gets zoomed in a massive amount whenever I try to set it as a wallpaper.

Though as someone said before, the way around this, working for me at least, is to go into settings General>Accessibility>Reduce Motion (ON).

This removes the fancy 3D effect of tilting the screen, but causes the image to be properly scaled. Personally, I feel this is adequate, but also that the zoom on the motion enabled images is a little too much.

Hope this helps
