Did the zoom bother you in iOS 6?
Like many or most people here, I had ZERO problems with the IOS 6. None whatsoever.
As of last week, after downloading IOS 7 on my iPhone 5, I've had headaches, eye strain, and nausea.
The app zooming animation in IOS 7 is different because of the speed and the type of animation.
When you unlock the phone, the apps icons go zooming past you, initially very fast and then slow down a bit near the end. For us who are affected, this is an unsettling sensation of "flying" backwards" and causes feelings like motion sickness. It's an animation that you might see in a 3D video game.
And then everytime you open and close apps, you have the sensation of flying into and out of the apps, as you see the icons and app name fly past your head, forwards and backwards. This alone would be bad enough for some, but then you have it going it and out of different angles to different parts of the screen. And sometimes, it starts out fast, then slows down as it nears the end of animation. So you have different speeds, angles, locations on top of the flying sensation.
The IOS 6 animation was simple, fast, and always came from the center of the screen. It was like a blink of an eye. You were unable to make out the icons or text as it zoomed in and out. The zoom was almost indiscernable.
So these are the factual differences. But the only thing that really matters is whether or not it affects you. Either it does or it doesn't. And you'll know within 15-30 minutes whether you're one of the unfortunate ones like myself. I just close my eyes now and look away when I unlock and open/close apps to avoid the headaches...
Apple, I hope you're listening. We need a disable option very soon...
