Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

based on my plan with AT&T, I paid $1 and was able to trade in my iOS 7 tainted iPhone 5 for a brand new iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.4 installed. At home I restored the new phone with my most recent backup, ignored the requests to upgrade to iOS 7, and was good to go.

the important thing to note here is that once I was off iOS 7 and back using iOS 6.1.4:

I also want to reiterate:

I have been a loyal Apple early adopter since 1992. I have ALWAYS upgraded every OS to the newest of the new without question and for the most part have never had any problem. I'm always happy to take on the newest and most advanced code implementations ALWAYS...

But this is different. Something is very odd about iOS 7.

My wife won't upgrade her phone until there is a way to turn the transitions off.

Horrible nausea from IOS 7, the zooming makes me sick. How do I revert to IOS 6 ?

You go to the store and get an iPhone that still has the 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 installed in it. There is no way (as of now) to turn back from iOS 7. Not until Apple hears our cries.

I can't imagine why everyone is having this problem. I have been using iOS7 on my iPhone 5 and now iOS7 update and have had not had any problems at all. NONE. ZIP. What on earth is everyone talking about?

Some people are more sensitive to motion than others.

Personally I haven't had any issues with the navigation animations either, but I guess, like some people are susceptible to vertigo or acrophobia, or even sea or flight sickness, and many aren't; some people experience unpleasant feelings with the animations while many others do not.

I'd like to think Apple did not consider this could be an issue when designing the effects, and may at some point supply a way to disable the animations.

However I'm still puzzled since iOS 6 has those zoom effects except they come from the center rather than from each app icon.

The Parallax effect can be disabled in Settings->General->Accessibility.

It's about neurons firing off in our brains from SOMETHING (we don't know what yet) that is coming from the iOS 7. You don't feel the effects, because you don't have sensitive neurons. This is like asking, how come some people can go on a roller coaster and feel fine, while others get dizzy. You'd have to talk to a neurologist to really fully understand why and how this happens to some people and not to others. It's all about how the brain functions. Since you are not getting sick, I really have no clue why you are posting on this page. Probably showing off how well your brain functions 🙂

It's not just the zooming that makes me sick (although it does aggravate the nausea even more) but using the interface as usual (i.e. reading texts, e-mail, switching apps, etc.) makes me terribly and uncomfortabley ill after a minute or two. Again, it goes beyond just zooming and parallax in iOS7, it seems to be something with a buzz or vibration (for lack of a better description) coming off the screen.

Having this problem as well. just got off the phone with Apple Support. The tech I talked to walked through all of the options I had tried. he thinks it might be a setting in iTunes on my MacBook Pro that is at home that might be causing the problem. Will give that a try but not hopefuly. he said that if this doesnt work, I would probaby have to do a reset and restore - not something I want to do because I have several security tokens that I use daily that will have to be reauthorized and setup.

If the iTunes setting change, if it is different on my Macbook Pro, doesnt fix the problem - it looks like my iPhone may be relegated to a desk drawer. Not a real fan of the color scheme they went to either. I think a solution got implemented that was in search of a problem that didnt exist.

Sorry rnutter, I tried it all and that BS about having to a reset and restore will NOT get you back to 6.1. Been there, done that. The ONLY thing that got me away from the iOS 7 is when I went to the store and got an iPhone that still has the factory installed 6.1.3 on it (I bought an iPhone 4s).

It may be you are susceptible to the Noise Cancelling feature, as others have reported such an issue and feel vibrations coming off of the phone.

Go to Settings->General->Accessibility->Phone Noise Cancellation and turn it off. See if that helps. Its a longshot but it may just work for you.

Tallcotton, nobody ever claimed "everyone is having this problem" or that it affects a majority of iPhone users.

The reality may be it only affect 5% of the users (my guess-timate). So all this means is that you are in the 95% of the population who is not affected at all by this type of simulated motion sensitivity...

It's like going to a lung cancer forum and stating "my lungs feel great and I breathe just fine, what on earth is everyone complaing about?"

The people posting here are in the 5%, sharing their common experience in the hopes of a quick solution from Apple.

thanks but noise canceling is the feature that cuts out background noise such as traffic, crowds, etc. when you have the phone up to your ear and conversing with someone. It has NOTHING to do with the visuality of the iOS.

I know it doesn't. But some people have reported to be sensitive to this and thought it was something in the screen because they feel vibrations from it.

As I said, its a longshot, it may be unrelated. It may very well not be.
