Any way to turn off iOS 7 navigation animations?

The zoom animations everywhere on the new iOS 7 are literally making me nauseous and giving me a headache. It's exactly how I used to get car sick if I tried to read in the car.

How do I turn them off? Do I have to revert to 6?

Luckily, that's still a solid "of course not". iTunes will tell you a new update is available, but IIRC you can even till it to ignore the specific update, just as with ASU. Then you will just have to avoid clicking on the update button on the summary page iTunes presents when you connect your device.

Apple Accessibility's reaction is an encouraging sound, but I've let them know that the visual motion aspect is only part of the problem, unlikely to explain the cases of migraine.

Hard to be sure without proper analysis (there is software for that, though not freely available), and it's not necessarily the fact that the colour scheme is bright. But yes, it's likely to be the colour scheme combined with the frequency content. After all, that's the main thing that changed w.r.t. iOS 6 when you look at static images. I posted a link to research on visual stress a while back.

Reply to RJV Bertin: yeah that makes sense, and i must have missed the link you posted. (This thread is getting pretty long)

Reply to Stef142: ah, I see. I'm one of the unlucky ones who get migraines, and the more severe ones at that (with auras). Strangely enough, I personally have not been affected by the new os at all. (Didnt update my phone yet but have been using it pretty extensively on other phones to see if im affected before updating on my own and getting stuck with something I cant use)

for the 1,000,000th time that only turns off the wallpaper parallax, NOTHING will turn off the zooming animations.

lol. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out who is annoying me more ... the people who say this isn't happening and we're just whiners or Samsung plants or the people that think everybody in a 24 page thread just didn't notice a settings option ...

I have been lucky as I had just bought my new phone and was able to return it and revert back to my Iphone4 which I have not upgraded. I have a question if anyone can help me? Because I updated the phone I returned on ITunes does that mean if I connect my Ipad or Iphone 4 to Itunes (both IOS6) I they will be automatically updated or do I still have a choice - any help appreciated!! :-)

Don't worry, you have a choice of upgrading to ios 7. Going back however is another story. It is still possible to go back.

Google is your friend. I do not however want to go back to my beloved ios 6 and miss out on all new features.

Android folks are going forwarded, and we are taking steps back?! I don't think so.

I am a reasobable guy. Apple is one of the richest companies in the world. I am sure they can gather their resources together, and find a solution that will make everyone happy.

I am willing to suffer with this problem for couple of weeks. If Apple does not come out with a solution in this time frame or at least make a public announcement regarding this issue, I am switching to android (which I have done in the past, and loved it. Apple caters to the perfectionist in me, but htc one is decent enough to make me happy)

I will not settle for an option of turning animations off. Why would I have a 1 year old phone without any visual enchantments. It's like driving a 7 series BMW with manual roll down windows and a stick shift.

They need to implement an option to increase animation speed of the zoom effect, as well as few other options. (Hard to tell what the outcome will be without trying it out)

It's true that percentage of people effected by this problem is rather small. What Apple needs to understand is following.

If I switch to android you better believe that I will really push my friends and family to switch to the other side as well.

It will be a chain reaction.
