iOS 7 Music playback bug when unlocking device. Is there any solution?

I'm having a problem on my 5th generation touch: when you are playing a song and unlock the lockscreen, the song rewinds to sone random point of it.

Thansk, for advance.

Hello,

The music playback is reverting to the point, where the current playback was when you first locked the phone.

To test: open an audio file (audio book or music). Play it. Lock the screen. Unlock it. Things are fine.

Now listen or forward a little. Lock the screen.

Look at the playback indicator on the playback screen: it is not moving. It is stuck at the point of the first lock or unlock.

If you change to a different file (select album or song from list) this time resets again and works once.

I am listening to (trying to) to an audio book that makes it completely impossible. Very annoying. My 3GS is going on the charger just to listen to audio books until this is resolved. This is a huge issue, especially if it affects Ipods as well.

Hope the explanation on how to reproduce the issue helped. I will try to enable the ipad controls on the phone lock screen, but not sure if that will help with the issue.

Cheers

Could you elaborate on that a little please?

Do you mean, you would unlock the screen in a different way that sliding the (now almost non-existent) slider?

Where do you grab the screen, or what do you mean by "move the locked indicator" ?

Thanks ... this bug drives me nuts to be honest... I am seriously charging my old beat-up 3GS and will use that for now 😟

OK .. I think I know what you mean .. on the lock screen you can hit +15 and -15, then the time/slider will work again .... pause/start might also start the counter again (not sure which one actually did).

It seems like the first lock messes the function up, and you can un-mess it this way (not so technically speaking).

iPod users must be furious now.

Sorry, english is not my natural language, that's why it's not easy to me

But here i'll try to explain it better

With the device locked and music playing, get to the lockscreen. On it you have a "playback indicator", or "indicator bar" of the song you are playing (sorry, that's what i don't know the exact name in english, but it's the bar you use to see in what part of the song you are, and to foward it or rewind it. Do you understand?)

So, this "Progress bar" will be "locked" (it will show you the time of the song that was when you locked the device and won't move). What i've done, is to move the indicator to another part of the song, and it will work again, and if you unlock the device, the song won't revert to the poing where you locked you device.

There is it. I have tried to elaborate more the "solution".

I hope this fix your problem too!

The +15 / -15 only displays while playing a .m4b audiobook, and I have several audiobooks in .mp3 format so this won't work for me. This issue is really becoming a nightmare for me already, and it's only been a few hours. I'm constantly tying to find where I got to, and it's much harder to move to a different point in the track now, even when using the 'fine-scrubbing' feature, the bar just jumps all over the place.

Yes, makes sense.. just figured this out with the +-15 ...

English is not my 1st language either BTW.. no problem with that .. haha

That said, I am listening to the Jobs biography these days (at least trying to) .... irony .. ther release of this buggy player would have made him .. ugh .. scream at some people. Though being a developer quietly tells me, that this is the fault of some marketing team (hard to be polite for me about that) who needed the release out the door before it was properly tested.

Either way ... an other push for me to get an iPod classic. (irony again, how a bug would make someone buy an other product from the same company) ...

Cheers..

Well, restore here we go... noticed the battery went from a full charge to less than 30% overnight. (9pm - 6am) with 3 hours playing an audio book and all radios off (airplane mode as I have it during the night)....

So ... waiting ... waiting .. 60% ...

OK .. Seems like the playback issue is solved. This is good news. I will have to see the battery .. if I know I will post it here again.
