iOS 7 Music playback bug when unlocking device. Is there any solution?

I'm having a problem on my 5th generation touch: when you are playing a song and unlock the lockscreen, the song rewinds to sone random point of it.

Thansk, for advance.

I got the same issue of the "repeat at punch point" (as it is named in some music apps) with my new iPhone 5s and iOS 7.0 but it disappeared.

However, I got another problem since the first day and that is still there, after restarting the device and even after updating to iOS 7.0.1...

I would like to know if someone can reproduce it:

1) Start a song with the "repeat one song" option activated

2) Lock the screen with the physical lock button on top of the iPhone

3) Press the same button again

4) You will see the song playing with the progress bar "progressing" (!) on the locked screen. Now slide this progress bar to the end of the song...

In my case, the song re-start at 0:00 but the progress bar will be stuck at the end of the song even if I lock and unlock the iPhone again and again. The song will play normally, the other progress bar of the player app will function normally but the only way to free the progress bar of the locked screen is to move its cursor to any other part of the song.

And you?

Thank you for taking time to try it on your device!

I have a similar issue with my 4S. I find that if I don't use the music player for a while (an hour or so, but exact time seems to be random) the player will default to iTunes Radio next time I open it. Strange thing is that I never close the music player app, I leave it running in the background so that I can resume where I left off. When I click on "Now Playing", the last audio file that I was listening to is displayed, but the time indicator is reset to the begining of the track. Very frustrating when listening to audio books, pod casts, radio shows, etc. that can be hours long.

Hopefully all these issues are resolved soon. Untill then, I'm dusting off my old Cowon A2! 😁

Note - Just happened again, but it was just ten minutes since I last accessed it.

Just started noticing this bug on my iPhone 5s. I'm not sure when it started and how I started the music (i.e. with Siri, or selecting a song, etc.) but I tried what Zonda suggested and that removed the issue for me. I tried recreating playing different songs, quiting the app and the playing songs, as well as restarting the device, and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

If you didnt understand what Zonda meant I will rephrase. If the bug occurs go back to the lockscreen, you should see the time not changing. tap and hold the "time slider" and move it to change your position in the song. after that the bug shouldn't happen again as far as i can tell.

I had this same problem. A restore solved it temporarily, but it came back about a week later.

I just tried the solution provided above -- changing the progress bar in the lock screen -- and that cured it again.

Not sure if the problem will come back, but I wanted to mention that a restore does not appear to be a total solution.

Hopefully an update will fix this (along with the faulty gyroscope issue).

I was listening to an audiobook for 35 minutes, then unlocked my iPod and the playback snapped back to where it was when I locked it. Moving the position bar on the lock screen is essentially useless, because it slides the whole display over to the password screen. This is a MAJOR problem that undermines the whole device. The iPod was a music player before it was a phone or anything else. Whatever changes are made to anything else, the ability to play music should be rock solid.

Congratulations on the lavish interface, but before installing the power windows and heated seats, make sure the car DRIVES!!! Beta testing is not meant to be done on consumers at large. Release updates when they are ready, not just because it is September.

Haha, the last part of your post is exactly the same I think. But day after day things are worse, lower quality, less lifetime. It's a sad but true story.

Now, about the problem: After the "solution" the problem returned just one more time, and i'm sure that it will do it again, so definetly its a bug of iOS 7 with no permanent solution.

I also found more problems with the Music app, specially on playlists. So IMO apple didn't care a lot about the Music app and personally I don't like the new interface of it.
