iTunes lists every episode of a podcast. Can't delete cloud listing.

Since downloading iTunes 11.1.0.126, when I display my podcasts in a LIST, it displays every episode from that podcast I'm subscribed to. With the option to redownload it.

This is terrible, because most podcasts have hundreds of old episodes. The majority of which I'd like to clear of my screen and never listen again.

But now I can't simply hit DELETE on my keyboard.

Help. Thanks.

This is really terrible. If you download a podcast with the cloud next to it, you can then delete it, but I can't possibly download hundreds of previously deleted podcasts just to get rid of them. And I don't want to delete of all of the old podcasts. Some, like podcasts from NPR's Tiny Desktop Concerts, I want to save. Someone didn't think this through. It needs to get fixed soon.

I'm also having this problem. It's extremely frustrating and a simple fix.

It almost seems like Apple is trying to force users into one of the other podcast viewing options for downloaded episodes. But those options have uncessary graphics and groupings. I don't need that, I want a simple clean list with full control.

Possible causes: a) a bug from from the stream online function; b) a bug from the mobile podcast app, where a swipe has to be used to delete each podcast, downloaded or not; c) Apple is planning to reduce all podcasts offerings to recent episodes only.

i just updated my iTunes today in order to update my iPhone and am having this same problem with deleting my podcasts. right now, it's hard to tell which podcasts i actually have downloaded on my computer and which ones are available to download. it's a HORRIBLE design flaw and seems like it would be a very easy fix. let's hope the people at apple resolve this issue quickly because it's very annoying and unneccesary

Deleting them would not help you with the way you currently have your View setting set.

Right now, if you go to View, you will see Hide Music in the Cloud. If you were to download these podcasts and then delete them, they just go back into the Cloud (not iCloud - iTunes in the Cloud), and display with the little cloud next to them again.

All you need to do is to click on Hide Music in the Cloud, and all the little "cloud" items will disappear....

Also, if you do leave them there you can double-click on any item in the Cloud and it will play from the Cloud without downloading to your computer.

So, you have ultimate flexibiity. You don't have to go to a special link in the iTunes Store to see your Music purchases anymore. You if you want to re-download something, you can simply click on the View Music in the Cloud option, and select the songs you want to re-download, then turn off the View Music in the Cloud option all on one screen and with a couple of clicks. Much easier!
