iTunes lists every episode of a podcast. Can't delete cloud listing.

Since downloading iTunes 11.1.0.126, when I display my podcasts in a LIST, it displays every episode from that podcast I'm subscribed to. With the option to redownload it.

This is terrible, because most podcasts have hundreds of old episodes. The majority of which I'd like to clear of my screen and never listen again.

But now I can't simply hit DELETE on my keyboard.

Help. Thanks.

itunes 11.1.1.11 fixed my 'podcast lists' (it's not showing the old eps anymore and it's looking like the old list that I was used to in ios6).

But I noticed just before I installed 11.1.1.11 update that it mentioned that this update fixes the 'My Podcasts' tab and it now syncs properly with the podcast app.

So, I did the following and it all now works seamlessly (Note: I manually sync my podcasts with my iphone).

1. Forget about List tab and setup your podcast subs in 'My Podcasts'.

2. Click on each podcast and click the settings icon in the top right and play around with the settings that best suit you. Mine are:

User uploaded file

3. Repeat for each podcast you subscribe to

4. Go to my stations tab and again click the settings icon in the top right and play around with the settings that best suit you. Mine are:

User uploaded file

5. Go to your iphone/ipad/ipod, click settings, then go to the podcast apps settings and do the following:

User uploaded file

6. Open your podcasts app click on a podcast and click Settings. Change your settings to the following:

User uploaded file

7. Repeat 6 for each podcst you're sub'd to.

Once you setup your devices like the above, each time you sync your phone with itunes, the podcasts automatically sync and each time you open itunes your sub'd podcasts download the latest episodes and wait for a sync.

I have 277 podcasts so this isn'y going to happen for me.

Actually after a few days of using gpodder I have found I really like it - the features about control of download and playback are far nicer for my purposes than iTunes ever was when combined with windows media player. So the only downside of gpodder is not being able to use Apple devices. But finding a small device for playback of some other brand is no big deal. My phone is separate anyway. The biggest issue this month is living on 2GB/day until the 13th of the month to avoid being put on the penalty list at Suddenlink. I do not want my internet service to be throttled down. Next Monday I can turn on my Carbonitee backup, download all recent episodes again (right now I'm only updating the essentials) and get back to normal automated life. Maybe it is time to try out Surface Pro.

The last time I had a problem with Apple products was when Steve Jobs was pushed out and the Pepsi king moved in and my powerbook quickly became a bookend. Steve was obviously the brains of the company. He is missed.

I delay updating iTunes as long as possible. I had to this time because of a new iPhone (provided from work). I had over 1700 podcasts that got hosed. Luckily, I had backed all media files up a couple of days ago. If I hadn't they would have all been gone (34 were left). There were 45+ gigs of podcasts. It would have taken a week to upload them to the cloud. When I realized what was happening (I connected my iPod for the first time and the new Cloud feature was syncing), I crased the app and disconnected the internet.

I have uninstalled the worthless cloud and disabled the auto ipod, etc syncing. The only thing that saved me was a lucky reminder to backup.

The new podcast/cloud features are worthless.

BTW, Judy--thanks for the great suggestion of gPodder! I, too, will look at other playback devices. Tired of iTunes.
