Time zone problems with iOS 7
Why does my iPhone 5 automatically set the time zone for Chicago when I live in Tennessee after I updated to iOS 7?

I have the same problem, execpt I am in the Eastern Time Zone.
Specifically:
Settings
General
Date & Time
Set Automatically is set to "ON"
Time Zone automatically shows "Chicago" which is Central time, thus my time display is one hour behind
I'm also having this issue.
I live in San juan, Puerto Rico and when I turn on the automatic option it gets set to Hamilton. Problem is Hamilton is one hour ahead of my real time in PR.
I'm in TN and I have the same problem. I switched the clock to manual so it reads the correct time
I did that. But in case of traveling, it won't update to real time zone.
I'm in the eastern time zone and never had problems with iOS 6 on an iPad 3 with Verizon. After iOS 7, it thinks it is in Cupertino. Had to set the time zone manually.
Yep, exact same thing happened to me today too. Caused me to be an hour late to work. And didn't even realize what was going on until I got to work!
I live in Knoxville, TN (eastern time zone) and the 'set automatically' on and some time in the middle of the night it switched me to Chicago (central time zone)!
I've changed it to manual until they fix this bug!
I'm in Johnson City, TN and have the same thing happening to me. It was fine when I first upgraded to ios 7 but just started happening within the last hour or so. I'm on the Sprint network. Don't know if the network has anything to do with it or not but seems to be happening a lot in TN.
I'm in Nashville and having the same (but opposite problem). Automatic keeps changing me to Eastern time and I live in Central. I've changed it manually but would like it to change on its on when I travel. Also on the Sprint network...
I'm also on the sprint network.
I'm also in Nashville, I'm on Sprint with my iPhone 5 and iOS 7 and I'm also having this issue. Even though I'm in the Central time zone, when Date & Time is Set Automatically the time zone is set to New York or eastern time and the phone's clock jumps ahead an hour.
Curiously, it appears to be related to LTE use. It you turn off Enable LTE under Cellular and then Set Automatically Date & Time, the time zone shows Chicago (ie, Central). If you re-enable LTE use, the Time Zone automatically resets to New York again, EST.
This is also occuring on my wife's iPhone 5 with iOS 7. This was not an issue with IOS 6 on either my or my wife's iPhone 5. For now, I've got the Date & Time set manually to Central time. This could be an issue with Sprint, their local LTE tower, or iOS 7 since it did not occur until the update. As I travel some what regularly, this could become a major pain and I hope Apple or Sprint can resolve this ASAP.
ErinB1811, my wife and I are also in Nashville, on Sprint with iPhone 5's and iOS 7 and we're also having this issue. It appears to be related to LTE use. Is this the case with your iPhone as well?
I figured that as well. Last night, I called Sprint Customer Service to report this issue and they opened a case to send to the engineering department to check what's wrong with the LTE network. I recommend you all call to report this issues so they know it is massive to other people and not only some users.
Make sure you all explain the LTE relevance with the time zone change.

Depending on where in TN you are, that would be correct.
If the device is set to Automatic, the time is coming from the cell tower.
For those that are having issues, who is the carrier? Have they been contacted? Do other phones experience the same issue on the same network?
Yes, it's very odd that it started after updating to iOS 7.
Might be worth trying Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Same issue here with iPad 3 on Verizon network. I'm in Wisconsin. iPhone is fine so I don't think it's a Verizon issue.
It's happening to me as previously stated. I'm on the Sprint network, I have contacted them and from reading the board here, it does look like other phones are experiencing the same issue. I tried the network reset and no dice. Still changing it when on automatic.
