My ipad VIDEOS app doesn't show the movie Names with IOS 7

Ditto for me, I use Home Sharing from iTunes to both Apple TV (which doesn't suffer from this titles nonsense) and my iPad (which does).

Home Sharing is a great feature, why do Apple insist on crippling it like this? It works brilliantly with ATV, but it's a PITA to use with iOS devices because of stupid limitations in the Videos app.

What is the name of the video player app that allows access to the itunes video?

I want a video player that works with "Home Sharing". Then my 4 AppleTVs and my two iPad are looking a the same videos.

I am using an app called Moli Player and it workes to view videos in a WD My Book Live NAS drive I setup with a second set of my Videos.

Having the same annoying issue and I tried to update the artwork on the first twenty or so movies out of the two hundred plus I have. The only problem is is that sometimes the artwork shows up on the incorrect movies and makes that basically just as useless. Anyone else having similar issues?

Thanks! I did initially make all the changes in iTunes using your method. However, when the videos were transferred to my iPad they did not work. I do not know why, but to make it work I had to do them individually in iTunes. In any instance, as loyal Mac customers, we should not have to scramble to find work arounds everytime Apple decides to change an operating system. I wanted to buy my wife a new iPad for her upcoming birthday, but she said there is know way she is going to upgrade and have even more problems.

The Apple 'Videos' app has always been a bit rubbish. Now it is even worse.

To have to mark everything as a 'Home Video' to get the titles - and then only a truncated version - is a joke for a company that supposedly prides itself on user experience.

A list view would be nice, either with or without thumbnails, just like in iTunes on a PC/Mac. Not difficult.

In fact, I might get my son to write me an app to do it. It cannot be that difficult.

I agree, give us some view options like regular folders (thumbnails, covers, list, detail).

I suspect they turned off titles on Movies for motion picture industry protection, since "all" published commercial movies should have a suitable cover showing the title with other cheesy graphics. Thereby, making it harder to see what you might have obtained without paying the necessary royalties.😉

Home Videos will cover everything else and might not have a cover, so the need to show titles, truncated nonetheless.

With iOS 7 and changes made to iTunes, Apple is definitely heading down a different path. Not sure if it is a good one, though.

we have 4 ipads in this household, and none of us are impressed, since we have 1 computer which ALL ipads are synced with which is purely for media, this creates huge problems...!!!

And now i have to rename or reclassify because you decided that having a name displayed is "untidy"...???

How arrogant is that...!!!

Gives us the choice so WE can decide what we want and what is usable...!!!

That is NOT a solution, not when you have a big library, i want to be able to see what i have, and mixing all my home videos in with my movies is just not a good answer...!!!

Apple needs to sort this out and deal with it, even an option for LIST in the iPad would be better than what we currently have...!!!

But all these workarounds, all these renaming, reclassifying are really pathetic...

And so you understand, a MOVIE is a MOVIE, a HOME MOVIE is a HOME MOVIE, why make people change what they are so they can see what they are...

Since the iOS 7 update I find myself using my Android tablet for videos. I never used to have a reason to use it much in the past. Android clearly has a much better solution to view movies now. The file names are easily displayed. I can't imagine how Apple QA or an Apple developer could believe this new movie feature is an improvement.

I just restored to my new iPAD air.

All of my videos are present in iTunes (48 of them)

but NONE of them show up in Video on the iPad Air?

How do I find/view my videos (which worked fine on my iPAD 2)

You restored the Air from an iTunes backup of your iPad 2? Sync your Air with iTunes. The videos aren't kept in the backups, they (like music, podcasts, etc.) are in iTunes and have to be synced with the iPad to be copied across to it.

Videos on ios 7 is THE worst update I have ever seen as far as apps go! YES, worse than every iteration of Skype after Microsoft took it over!

Not only is it impossible to tell what is really living in your ipad due to flawed interface feedback in-app AND settings.

It crashes every time you try to remove a video.

Rentals stay there uselessly after they expire.

Swipe functions like " delete " ARE not obvious!

It can't handle playback while it downloads!

I mean come on! At least give us the option to use the old version !

I addressed it. I bought the new Samsung Notes 10.1 2014. It doesn't have any of the video app problems. I can't believe Apple won't fix this issue. We shouldn't have to beg to be able to watch videos on our iOS 7 devices. Watching movies is one of the things I used to do with my mobile devices.
