My ipad VIDEOS app doesn't show the movie Names with IOS 7

I would be happy with just a simple list of the filenames as an option. How hard could that be?

It's pretty darn annoying on an iPad to not have the option of viewing the full name. And also multiple deletions.

When you're adding video clips to a Keynote presentation, it's lots of fun looking at dozen or so video files all with a BLACK first frame. No clue to which video is which unless you just uploaded to Camera Roll and make a note of the order you uploaded the files. Why be guessing like that? You can send video file to another app like Photomanager Pro which lets you assign filenames, but, of course, Keynote can't see those to load....

Maybe iOS8 will resolve this issue? Any chance of that?

I'd like to have a list of titles with the option to seperate them using folders or albums but that obviously doesn't look flashy enough and would actually be useful.

My second choice would be to just have titles.

My third choice would be to have a pointless thumbnail with the title underneath it (like it used to be).

My last choice would be to have a useless thumbnail with no title to it (what we have now)

I honestly can't think how apple could make this app worse. I was trying to think of something sarcastic to write as a prediction of how the next version could further deteriorate but I seriously can't think of anyway to make it less user friendly.

As an Android user, that is forced to use iPad as a work device, i feel sorry for all apple users.

Firstly, because I now better understand the limitation of Apple devices.

And secondly, for the narrow minded that apple users are, keep using devices from a company that constantly limiting users and tell them what to do and how to do it.

I just cannot understand how more and more people are joining the Apple family, when all i hear is how problematic their products are.

The frustrating part for me is that I have come to like Keynote and find creating presentations on it on my iPad mini quite easy. For a device that handles audio and video files so well, it's just plain frustrating that you can't enter a filename or a title to photos and videos so you can ID the file that you want to select.

Even more strange is that there appears to be no way to add a sound file as an item directly onto a Keynote slide. No way to access iTunes, that I can figure out. I work around that by creating a movie with the sound I want as a soundtrack, and then loading that into Keynote.

Hello everyone, I have found my own solution to this. Let me first explain that I am doing this for my iPad and using Shared library. I am not actually syncing the videos to my iPad. Have over 50 GB's of this stuff. So they are being served by May Mac Pro downstairs. Some people said to change the type to "Home movies" . Tried this and no luck. However, I had noticed that all my TV shows showed up with a preview and name titles. Therefore, here is how I solved it:

In iTunes on my Mac Pro, select Movies in the Sidebar. Then in the right pane select the "list" view. Now highlight or select ALL the movies you want to change. Make sure they are all highlighted and then right click and select "get info". You will be asked if you want to change all and select Yes. Now since all the ones I selected are all of the same subject, video tutorials, I went to the Video tab first and in the Show area, I put in a name, this way they are all in this name category. Then go to the Options tab and where it says "Media Kind", select "TV Show", and the hit OK. Depending how many you have, a window will come up showing the progress while it changes meta tagging. Now when I go to my iPad, and select the Videos app, when it opens I select "Shared", select my library, and when it connects I select TV Shows tab, and there is an icon with the name of what I named the episodes earlier, I click this and there are ALL my videos, with icons and titles! Wahlah! It's too bad we have to go through all this. What I am wondering though, will this TV Shows category in iTunes be continually monitored so that when I add more videos it will pick them up or will I have to go through the same steps again? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck.

Yes, I found the same thing. The video name problem seems to be fixed in iOS 8!

While it's sad Apple failed to offer any additional views, such as a list view for example, and they also failed to fix the unbelievably long delay between when you select the remote iTunes library and when the grid of content appears (longest unmoving progress indicator ever!) at least they've finally fixed the video content name problem and for that I'm thankful.

Here's what I do:

First, import the videos into iTunes by selecting "Add to library", navigate to the video files, then click open. Now select Movies in the Sidebar. Then in the right pane select the "list" view. Good Morning, I know this post is over a year old, but I'd like to offer you the solution that worked for me.

First of all, I'm using a PC.

On my PC, I have all my videos in one place with TV Shows, Movies, and other videos in there respective subfolders.

I downloaded a Tagging software called "MP3Tag" from CNET.

Although it's title suggest otherwise, it will work for MP4's as well! I opened the software and imported all of my Movies and TV Shows.

There is a side bar that shows the information of the file you've clicked on. At the bottom of this sidebar, there is place to add Artwork.

Now, I open my web browser and go to this site: http://bendodson.com/code/itunes-artwork-finder/. I type the name of the TV Show or Movie and it gives me the artwork. I then drag and drop that into the "Album Art" field of the file that's still highlighted in MP3Tag. I know this seems like a lot, but it's well worth it for a clean looking ipad movie library! Please give it a shot. If you have a lot of videos, it will indeed take a while the first time. But eventually, you'll only be doing one movie or tvshow at a time...as you acquire it!
