No way to close Camera app opened from lock screen on iOS 7 from iPhone 5?

On iOS 7 from iPhone 5's lock screen, when the camera app is opened by swiping bottom up, it opens and when tried to slide it down, it doesn't really roll back. Only way to get out of the camera app is to click the home button. This was ain't the case with iOS6.

The fact to be little concerning here is that, the opened camera app still runs in the background. That's going to cost a lot of battery life.

Is it one of a case or a known issue?

Thanks.

iPhone 5, iOS 7

I hope these pictures would explain the true sense of issue being put up here. Let me know if anything is unclear or additional info would be needed.

Why this is a big point of concern for me is the fact that i travel quite a lot and am a big fan of iSight Cam to take pictures as i go. Everytime i slide up from the home screen and take the pictures and slide it down to close the app when not in use and that makes sense.

Given the fact that, the camera app is going to run in the background, i fear if it would juice out more power from the device, which is very very precious for someone who is on the toes like me.

Thanks again.
