Ok...after an hour on the phone with Apple tech(they were very nice btw)...my issue was finally resolved.

We ended up installing iTunes on my wife's laptop...then were able to restore my phone and install IOS 7 from there.

After doing so...I was able to plug the phone into my computer, log in to itunes, and install the backup onto my phone, which gave me all of my apps and contacts back.

Not sure exactly what the issue was...but this got me up and running again.

(btw...when I did the restore/update on my wifes computer...it renamed the iPhone as hers. I just had to rename it once I plugged it back into my computer and synced it with my iTunes. not a big issue at all)

My iphone 4s upgraded to ios7.0.2, after that is ok for 1week. Then afterward my iphone can't open any apps due to force close an app, so what to do? Sure everybody will restart the phone. When i restart the phone, after that my phone cannot on due to software corrupted, need to restore phone but error 4013 until now still can't fix. Since 1month ago until now. More than 10 shops i sent to fix but still remain same. Did apple have a solution? Pls help us. My iphone now totally dead.

Hi guys! I resolved my problem.

I work at repair service for smartphone.... we had that problem with iPhone 5 same error 4013.

we tried original cable, several computer... everything!

But then I decided to replace the charging connector flex cable (I thought maybe the connection problem can come from there too-and it did!!) and that help!

So if you tried everything and it didn't help - try this.

send it to repair service and ask them to do that!

I had the exact same problem with my iphone 4s and despite trying all the solutions mentioned here I just couldn't get past the error 4013. As I continued to read more about this, it all seemed to be related to some sort of hardware issue. So here is what I did step by step:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.

2. Run iTunes as administrator.

3. Try DFU mode

4. Try new cable

5. Try a different USB port(s)

6. Try a different computer

If still nothing works, the only part of hardware left which may be faulty is the docking port-it might just be some carbon or dust build up in the port. To clean this, the easiest solution would be to:

- insert the edge of a credit card and gently wiggle around in the dock (don't be too forceful, all you are trying to do is dislodge some of the dirt). After that just try to restore it again using iTunes.

This last step was what worked for me, so just sharing it for others out there to try and see if it works for you. Hope it helps!

Hi

I have the same problem and i fixed it.

  • open your iphone and remove the lcd screen cable.
  • Connect your phone to your PC and restore your iphone or Install the last update.

If successful !

Maybe the problem in the cable or sensors.

*If you get the error message 3194 when you restore your iphone.

Go to the hosts files

C:\\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

open in notepad , Delete this line # 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com and Save and restore your iphone again.

Hey guys,

I had this problem with one of my customers two days after changing their screen. Error 4013. Phone was showing codes when trying to turn on and wouldn't let me restore the phone. Luckily i love what i do so i went deep into it till i found what was causing the problem. After multiple fails of trying to restore the phone i decided to take it apart. I tried multiple new screens on to see if the screen was the one giving me a issue, but no.

I decided to disconnect my proximity / camera flex cable while leaving the screen connected( don't try this is you don't know what you are doing!) and tried the restore and VOILA! It did the restore. I got all the screen back together and problem was there again!

Finnally, i decided to change the proximity/camera flex with a new one and use 1 of the 3 screens that had given me the same error! And problem fix, phone turned on perfectly, no codes.

This worked for me, hopefully it works for you. Please comment if you try this and it works, maybe it will help other or maybe apple fix the issue.

This was done on an iPhone 5
