I'm pretty sure it's a software related issue , I have 2 iphones 4g and 5g and both of them was working well , untill i updated them form ios6 to ios7.0.4 and the problem start to happen with me , I did restore with itunes and it's working for 10 days without any freez in lock screen , and after that when I start to install my application the problem back again , it's really annoying and apple engineer should look to this problem seriously .

don't tell me it's hardware beacouse it's just happen after ios 7 update for me and for others

After 3 months of going through this lock-screen freeze syndrome I could conclude the following:

1- This is NOT hardware issue. I got my phone replaced by Apple but did not solve.

2- This Not a software issue. Because most IOS 7 users don't have this.

3- This is Apple ID associated problem. Something to do with activating the phone using apple ID on IOS7. It is the only common factor!

I tried all solutions suggested by each earlier post. Nothing works. I even set up as new phone with no apps but apple standard pack. It will still freeze.

Did you have problem with activating face time and iMessage when upgraded to IOS 7?

I did!

Let me hear from u all. This might narrow our search.

Thanks apple for reading this Blog and saying nothing!!!

Hi Apple Engineers,

Problem:

I am facing this same freez problem on my Iphone 5 (with iOS 7.0.4) in India, Chennai.

I am using Airtel provider.

1. I can see the missed call list(s) on the first locked screen

2. To unlock the screen i tried to Swap "slide to unlock" screen, But it hangs (freez). But swap Bottom to Top to see the short cut app modes (wifi, airoplane mode,bluetooth...etc) it is working fine.

3. I cant get in to passcode input screen.

Workaround for this issue: (for iphone users)

1. "Reset iPhone😠" OR

2. "Make a call from your firend mobile to your hanged Iphone and pick the call. Now you wouldn't see the hanging problem😎"

Suggessions: (for iphone engineers)

Might be problem in locking mechanishm in the IOS. Missed call would be not properly handled by the locking mechanisim, Since, while freez, next attend call will resolvd this issue. So locking mechanishm is the problem. Please concentrate these part and put your hard work on this. Don't give workaround to iphone users all the time. workaround is only temp until fix the bug. So work hard and give us the flawless upgrade.

Sorted it!

The problem is windows is not recognising the phone

Go to windows start button click

From the side menu select control panel

From the list select “device manager”

On the universal bus controllers list you will see a yellow triangle saying “unrecognised device” right click it and uninstall

Unplug the iPhone from the USB and reconnect...

You may have to do this a few times

This problem is still going on.

Rondom crashes here on iPhone 5 with IOS 7.0.4.

I have disabled paralax effect, airdrop, bluetooth, etc.

Did a reset, closed all apps, had a diagnostic through Apple (with no reply 😐)

Still the iPhone keeps resetting/crashing randomly.

Screen sometimes turns green or pink with lines, turns to white with black Apple logo, tries to restart several times and after a while starts up und functions normaly untill at a 'certain' moment, it crashes again.

Lots and lots of the same reports on the internet, but alas with no sollution as far as I'm aware.

Odd thing is, my wife's iPhone 4 with same IOS 7.0.4. has no such problems.

It could be that certain apps (in the background?) cause these problems.

Up till now Apple keeps silent unfortunately.

I have been experiencing same random freezing/restart issues since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 5. I had no issues for over a year and now the issue occurs multiple times per day.

I have visited the "geniuses" at my local Apple Store twice and they are have no idea what the problem is and claim to be unaware of a widespread issue. I have restored from iTunes backup, restored form the cloud, restored the phone as a new device and reinstalled all data and apps, all with no success.

We can only hope that iOS 7.1 will resolve this issue.

Did you update your phone using itunes? If the issue is due to the update then restoring it in itunes will do nothing because it will just put the same iOS 7 file back onto the phone. One thing you can try is deleting the ispw file for the iphone update and then do another restore.http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/08/ipsw-file-location-mac-and-windows/This website shows you the locatoin of the ispw file on both Macs and Windows computers.

Hope this helps!

My device: iPhone 5c blue

Network: Vodafone India

IOS version: 7.0.4

Latest solve:

1. Update your ios device to 7.0.4

2. Rest phone + data

3. Connect itunes or wifi to start as a new phone!

4. No restoring please! (For this case I would recommend cloud backup in google or ms server)

5. No iCloud restoring please!

6. Turn on "reduce motion" settings -> accessibility

7. Turn on "passcode lock" small one

8. Turn off notification day view (if not required) and don't let all apps allow in lock-screen!

Problem solved, I was testing it from a month!

Reduce motion and lock-screen both have bugs inside.

Please people let all of us know! Your report to this comment/post is very useful.

I don't know about apple's engineers... But I believe users experience!

Well Facing the same problem after updating all the apps to make them iOS 7 compliant.

The worst is the phone appears to be normal like the network and 3G (while not on wifi) but the phone is freezed in terms of one cannot make or receive any calls / messages / or use the internet on 3G. I have been restarting the phone 2 to 5 times daily.

Have tried resetting the phone today. Fingers crossed. Else time to replace Apple.
