15 pages and still going. Interesting that the issues with the look and feel seem to be a huge topic all over the internet.
So much so that it is over shadowing the multitude of bugs in the iOS. I have reported 4 on my iPad ... One of which was the screen blacking out randomly.
Interesting that Apple is not pulling back a bit...the you MUST comply attitude is tough to swollow. Seems to be a running theme for companies that stop focusing in customer service. If I bought a car an it worked like this I would be using lemon laws to return it. We get no such luxury with our gadgets...you are under contract with a carrier for phones so not only does Apple ( or any other phone maker) have you stuck so does your provider. So if a phone becomes unusable through no fault of your own you still have to pay. Maybe we should not just be Giving feedback to Apple but also to the carriers, calling on warranties for unusable phones the warrenty companies can't fix....
For those of you being randomly censored it is par for the course here...better to be deleted the "edited"

Don't be so smug. Research websites that track these things are reporting a 52% uptake of iOS 7. Tim Cook announced there are now some 700 million iOS devices out there (iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches.) Conservatively that means close to 200 million (minus older unit that cannot upgrade) are already running iOS 7. That's about 2/3 the population of the U.S.You crow about this thread being 15 pages long yet most posts are by the same people ranting over and over again, followed by responders counterting the rants. So whether you like it or not iOS 7 is a raging success. Even if you tout how many "hits" on a Google search produces (which is meaningless anyway) it doesn't come anywhere near the number of iOS 7 installations out there. The shear numbers refutes your hysterical claims.

How so very, very true!!
Though I don't have numbers as any sort of proof, my guess is,
as with any major UI change (doesn't matter who, Apple, Microsoft, etc.)
there is going to be a very loud and vocal minority crying for the return
of the old. There will also be an equally vocal minority shouting out
their glee over the change. But by and large, the vast majority is just
saying. "Oh well", and going about their business using the new features
of iOS7.

These numbers in no way indicate whether people like or dislike iOS7; they merely indicate who is running it. Ironically, you're posting this in a thread about how to unistall iOS7. How many of those among the 700 million devices would actually prefer the old look, or better yet, a new look that is easier to read and less bright, etc.?
The sheer numbers refute nothing since many people, when they connect to the computer and are asked to update, simply click "yes". And as iOS7 is not customizable like an Android, people are stuck with what they have, whether they hate it or love it. Updating to iOS7 is not necessarily a vote for it.
So, let's be careful not to twist statistics one way or another. The above numbers say nothing except how many people are now using iOS7, like it or not. Many people don't like it—why this bothers you, I don't know—it's their experience. But I respect those who have come here to voice their dislike for an expensive device that they feel is regressing in usability.
Judging by the responce on twitter a huge percentage of people who "upgraded" to IOS7 would gladly revert to IOS6 if they could. Just try doing a twitter search for "IOS7 *****" and look at the huge volume of complaints... they are coming in by the hundreds every hour ever since it was released.
I would not call that a huge success in my book.

PIFFLE! As MaryPlaceStudio said, your "numbers" mean nothing.
For the few that speak up when things are a problem, there are ten sheep who will simply adapt and not bother to complain.

Was looking to migrate on my work phone to iPhone (IOS6) but with IOS7 that is now on hold.
Small Example: you 'sweep' your apps away to close them now , whereas before you double clicked the home button and simply X'ed out the apps to close them. I could close 5 at time before in a row, now must sweep one at a time...zzzzzz
Incorrect, you can sweep multiple apps at once to close them in iOS 7 and it is one feature of the new OS that I like. I'm no longer using iOS 7 and know that. Perhaps, consider not criticizing "Level 1" posters because they don't "rank" - people new here just might have credible input.

People downloaded it because they trusted Apple and figured it must be something they would like. Clearly, for some percentage of people, that was a mistake.

You seem to be one of those "same people ranting over and over again". Also, 700 million downloads or not, we do not have a choice. All apps will update to follow with the opperating system and sooner or later your phone will not work properly if you do not update, so all those downloads have nothing to do with the popularity of IOS7 (as if you don't know that). IOS7 is a stain on the reputation of Apple and a U-turn with everything Apple stands for, but I still did the update. I do not want my phone not working properly, but I do have the freedom to NOT buy an Iphone next time.
Okay, so I can not uninstall iOS7. ( Wow, really? Had I actually used it first, I would not have installed)
Here is what I would like to have happen.
Allow me to choose if I want the Lock Screen to "fade in" when I push the home button. (I want it to appear ASAP)
Allow disabling "flying/zooming" icon/window animations. (It's annoying, and does not add to function. just go to the requested function ASAP)
Allow the choice of a different font, globally, including Keyboard, etc. (not just font size. 3 would be enough)
Also, allow a choice of basic control icons. (Back, Bookmark, FF, PLAY, Etc.) These razor thin icons are hard to see on white.
One more thing. When I open a folder, let it fill more of the page. Perhaps scroll down through the apps. (I put Apps in folders because I don't like multiple pages.)
Those changes alone, and I would live with iOS7, wait for more changes.
For things I can live with, but would like to change...
Stop being so cryptic with functions. (Landscape mode, and the position slider, in the music player baffles me. So does hiding "list view" the Calendar App, and many other discoveries that are too long to mention. Apparently "speed" and "intuitiveness" are no longer a priority? Some of those apps were pretty finely honed. Seems odd to dismiss so much refinement.)
A better use of space. Not so much white in app after app, after app. Put info where I can get at it without having to open another screen, or menu.)
If I can't use drop shadows for windows and icons (to give the interface depth), allow me to turn "translucency" off. (I can only stand a pure black background "as is")
I can live with the garish fisher price icons, (even though I think they're horrid, a wreak of early 90's. I would love a few choices.)
And my favorite, request since iPhone day one. Make the interface flip upside down, like the iPad. (would love to be able to use the line out/headphone jack on the end of my choosing. (Home stereo or car, out the top. In my pocket, on the go. Out the bottom...
...while I'm at it. How about allowing the home screen (and every other screen) to be usable in landscape mode?)
I wouldn't feel such a need to revert back to iOS6, if you could just allow a little choice.
This was pretty drastic, and to not allow anyone the option of going back, to me, is just unconscionable.
If they allowed, I would go back in a heart beat... having used Apple products, and only Apple products for 27 years. For the first time, I'm thinking of bailing.
Apple. Is anyone listening? (obviously they are. they keep censoring these forums... but then again hearing and listing are too different things)
The simple solution is to give users the option via an update to have the old classic look or the new look and fix the bugs. For me its the bland white washed out screens and the flattened icons that make it look like a kids toy. The rest of the features are good, also if you hold off from updating app's will evetually not work on the old system, so it would be nice if Apple would give the user the option, however how many other companied have done that, just look at the state of Flickr since they updated it and they just shut the feedback sites down that stated anything negative.
IKrupp...
I was not smug..... I was stating fact. The thread was indeed 15 pages long and still going. I have been reading many things, not just this forum, and from what I have read and the comments on articles have been heavily weighted towards discussing the look and feel. Where in that do you get smug or even better hysterical claims? I did not post numbers...
As for your numbers in June Apple announced 600 million devices sold (Google announced 900 million) if they gained a million in 3 months it is a huge boom for Apple. Apple does have a much better share of the market in the US vs globally but it is not the leader, so I am really not sure what the point of giving the numbers. Note: Those devices were sold prior to iOS 7.
The fact that there has been a 52% uptake in iOS 7 means nothing. I installed and reverted one of my devices while I could...just to be clear..... just because it is installed does not mean the person likes it. Numbers mean very little at this stage anyway. The % of the market that will be forced to upgrade to iOS 7 that are locked into a contract and cannot afford to toss away $500-$700 for alternate devices will dictate that. It could be over to 2 years before the actual impact is felt and even that will depend on Apples iOS 7s ability to hear the customer and fix the issues. My suggestion would be that you take an economics class before spouting numbers.
As for being a level 1 poster...just means people are new to the forum not that they are new to Apple or any other platform. I, like several others, have been working with or in the computer industry for a very very long time...I have seen some big companies grow to greatness as a standard in the industry and shrink to near failure or even failure. Not saying it will happen here just saying that no company is invulnerable ...even loyal brand followers have their limits.
I'm getting used to it now but the white screen is indeed glaring. I can't imagine Apple can ignore the negative feedback, or at least, let's hope not. I wish we could customise more.
I've done just that.
APPLE,
Are you listening??? This latest upgrade is rubbish!! The decisions seems to be unanimous....No one is liking this.
