Wow...so many posts I wanted to respond too.

For the first poster..rolling back you OS is not supported but if you choose to use Internet posted methods it is possible, of course doing so at your own risk. That being said I agree the colors are horrible and for me it makes the phone unusable.

The pretty in the pictures showed was not something you could really see until you held it in your hand. My wallpaper that I have had for several years made the new translucent effect make my iPhone look rather sickly...I cannot read the green SMS text bubbles with white lettering at all. To temporarily fix the issues with the overly bright and ugly backgrounds by going to a gray scale wallpaper and dropping the brightness to less then 1/3 so if could see it. The I notified apple through feedback but I doubt it will a priority to make the accessibility features include a alternate color scheme...it had been a request for several years by many users. You would think by now the could offer more then one color scheme without compromising the stability or consistency.

It is true that if a person just got a contract and want to stay current plus have support you could be forced to put up with something that is very buggy ( or have you not read this forum the last few days) and on the whole less then pretty.

For the guys who are here to tell the newer users to buck up and live with it.....

The joy of being a consumer is having a choice and my contract is up in 2 months. No Drama...no digging in and living with it...For my part I've already decided...and no, I don't care if you care. People are here to see if their issues can be rectified not get bullied.

FYI...Market share is not only based on the hardware/ software but the way the customer is treated as well....personally would think its a good thing you folks don't work for Apple because your attitudes are less then I know what Apple insists on in its employees.

Finally, while it is true you have the choice to wait to upgrade and in the end you will get what you get, for those of you that do not work in the hardware/software industry there is no harm with reverting to a previous OS until the new OS becomes stable or even through the date the old OS sunsets. It does not require support of multiple systems farther then the software/ hardware company can bear while the stabilize a current OS...it is I fact a common practice. Seriously, what is the difference if I wait to upgrade or if I revert from an upgrade and wait....get a clue.

You misunderstand completely........

Itunes "last IOS" is in place in case of an emergency restore of your Ipad, ........its not there as a "downgrade option"

What you also dont understand is that slowly but somewhat quickly,....all the APPS you use will become dated and obsolete and you cant upgrade them on an IOS no longer supported on your OLD IOS if you dont upgrade to IO7.

There are countless logical reasons for all this, and you should consider same.

😊

Yes, that's what's so clever about it all, isn't it?

Apple could produce a bland, flat, iOS, and people would be stuck with whatever they produce, because you have to "keep up".

Oh wait, they just did.

Surface aesthetics are only about 10% of the new IOS7, the remaining 90% are upgrades for APP infrastructure which will support expansive APPs and capacities unrealized in the former IOS.

Consider the 90% in light of the 10% aesthetic you find subjectively unpleasing. 😊

Ironically, Apple was always considered the leader in computing in giving the user the best experience.

The complaints of too bright, boring, and bland a screen underscore a strange turn for Apple, who normally wow their audience. (Actually, I find it annoying. For the first time, I reduced my brightness by 40% since, after an hour, I was tired of looking at an all white screen in every Apple app I used. Bleh.)

No, it's not going to affect my life, and the problems of the rest of the world make this discussion rather silly. Nonetheless, most of us would have nothing to say if Apple simply gave folks the option to add a little color and contrast here and there. Aka. Android.

Samsung and all must be loving this new iOS.

Well, its like taking an older car and repainting it a new color, but throwing in a far more powerful engine, and faster tires and supercharger.

While some may stand back and say "Ehh, I dont like the new color"

......the technologists will open the hood and proclaim "My goodness, look at that engine and manifold, this is one fine machine" 😍

I suggest considering "whats under the hood" when it comes to the new IOS7 if you're not so fond of the "paint job" 😁

I hear ya. But why bother with a retina screen if all we need is a white screen and black text? I think Samsung/Android is giving their users a fine experience with plenty of power and something that's not tiring to look at.

After all, we're just talking about a phone here, not an editing suite for film. What's under the hood was plenty fine 5 years ago, because we were all answering the phone and reading our email then.

"Surface aesthetics are only about 10% of the new IOS7," well my dear, it may only be 10% but that 10% is what you see every time you switch on, every time you read a text, read an email, every time you look at the **** phone which is now a phone for kids! The colours are hideous, the layout is flat, it has no definition when you look at it. It is one grey bland layout with flat overly bright and garish colours. Apple have just sealed their fate with this 10%

Sep 19, 2013 11:02 PM in response to PlotinusVeritas

The 10% / 90% thing is understandable but what you don't understand is that if the 10% does not make sense or please the masses you just wasted the other 90%.

I actually like many of the other changes, not even complaining it looks cheap...but having to live with a screen I have difficulties seeing because 80s day glow @ even 50% is the only option is not an option. Makes my iPhone and iPad nothing but paperweights no matter how awesome the underlying 90% might be. It's just depressing.

That philosophical view cannot be enjoined in the arena of smart phones. 😍

Most people want 'more and better' features in their smart phones, and the IOS7 is there for that.

Namely the new Iphone and the IOS7 for same supports fingerprint scanning which will curb the MASS of Iphone thefts which have occurred in the past in certain big cities worldwide.

That is a welcomed plus along with countless new features that required an updated IOS7 platform.

I completely agree with you. It is not treating customers fairly in any way not to give them this option. Apple should mend its ways before it loses more customers to other providers. For the first time in a very long time, I am tempted to do this. Are you even listening, Apple?

Many people have complained and talked about apple losing customers with every update that comes out. What makes you think they will lose them now. They keep gaining customers. In fact ios7 is the fastest adoption for a new os.
