Dec 13, 2013 12:07 PM in response to modular747by Kilgore-Trout,Perhaps, but honestly, the entire thread has become pointless. It needs to become dormant. Why not help that happen. <hint, hint>

Dec 14, 2013 7:20 AM in response to Kilgore-Troutby flexmarketman,So one thing IOS 7 has caused me to do is search more in the App Store. I've been pleased to find numerous apps that are very good and have a much better UI than the one IOS 7 brings to the per-installed suite of Apple applications.
Textpad is a great replacement for Notes
Downcast is better than Apples podcasting app (and less buggy)
There are several calendar apps with better contrast and readability
There are numerous browsers where you can distinguish content from functions
But still, every time I look at my son's phone I'm struck by how ugly the neon glow is from IOS 7. Staying with 6 for know.

Dec 15, 2013 3:57 PM in response to viperman17by bfriedman78,The only way to revert back to an older IOS is loading a back up of that firmware that you had. If you don't have access to this then there is no way to go back.
-
Dec 15, 2013 4:59 PM in response to bfriedman78by modular747,As posted in this thread too many times to count, you CANNOT install "old firmware" which is no longer signed by Apple. There is no way to downgrade from iOS 7.

Dec 15, 2013 6:45 PM in response to modular747by ViperSK1,Nice to see you back Modular. Missed you.
I've seen a few posts that people have been able to go back to ios6, by restoring and older backup? Can someone other than Modular add their support to this if they have been successful in getting ios6 back in any way?

Dec 15, 2013 6:48 PM in response to ViperSK1by Allan Eckert,It doesn't work to downgrade iOS.
The Restore only restore data not the firmware.

Dec 15, 2013 6:51 PM in response to ViperSK1by modular747,Since the backups don't contain the iOS, only data, that is impossible. Anyone claiming to have done that is lying through his teeth. Then again, you already know that…

Dec 15, 2013 8:01 PM in response to modular747by ViperSK1,Kinda Modular, but there is always hope.
-
Dec 15, 2013 8:06 PM in response to ViperSK1by modular747,The only hope is that the problems with iOS 7 that you find disturbing will get fixed.
-
Dec 15, 2013 8:10 PM in response to modular747by ViperSK1,Lol, disturbing, yeah that's right. I have two iPads, one with ios7 one with ios6 ( my kids ) so I can compare back to back. Ios6 IS easier to use. That's all. Not upset or disturbed.
Mod, are you really old enough to be on here without your parents permission?

Dec 15, 2013 9:33 PM in response to ViperSK1by modular747,I'm probably older than your father.
Yet, it took me only about an hour to adjust to the changes in iOS 7, and find it at least as easy to use as, and more productive than iOS 1-6. i have no problems reading anything or finding/understanding any controls or buttons, without any accessibility options.
I'm not a big fan of the colors or icon designs, but I consider that a completely trivial aspect of the OS. (The OS 1-6 icons and colors were no masterpieces either, and getting boring after 6 years)
Since you aren't upset or disturbed, it begs the question why you continue posting. (Rhetorical question)

Dec 15, 2013 9:49 PM in response to modular747by ViperSK1,My father just turned 73 Dec 11.
I have no problems using ios7 either, just like ios6 better.
I keep posting hoping someone may find a way to go back to ios6 as that is what the original post was about.
Why are you here, not to help.
I do like teasing you though, as you make is sooo easy.
