Can't access iWorks apps on iCloud.com

I can't get into Numbers, Pages or Keynote on the iCloud.com website this morning. When I click on one of the icons I get chucked back to a sign-in screen. Mail, contacts, calendars, etc are all working fine.

Is anyone-else having this issue or is it just me?

Thanks,

Richard

Thanks for taking time to call Apple Support. I know it is painful.

It seems to be account specific, but why our accounts are being locked in the first place? It could be due to some server bugs and if the root causes are not identified, then it might happen again in future.

If you have iWork for Mac installed, and you have already used it once logged into iCloud, then all the documents are stored in the computer, as iCloud syncs all the files in the background, even if the apps are not running.

Make sure to drag the file out of iCloud folder in each individual app to make a copy in other folder (such as documents) (don't worry, the file's already downloaded), and edit from there. Once the account is fixed (because Apple has to go through each servers manually to fix the accounts, it might take at least a week or longer), then drag the file back into iCloud folder in each individual apps.

I have a feeling it might be due to restoring the data from backup stored in iCloud during the iOS 7 upgrade process. That might have falsely flagged some accounts as using excessive data bandwith, and locked the account. (which can only be unlocked manually by Apple technichian, which can take a while)

I dug up more log from another macbook, it turns out that my account was locked as early as 19 Sep 2013, how long is it going to take to fix it? Do I need to submit my apple ID to apple support and request for an account unlock?

I updated to iOS 7 GM (downloaded from developer portal) in early sep, long before 19 Sep 2013. So, I can't think of anything that I have done during mid-Sep that could possibly triggered the account lock up.

So, something must have gone wrong. Are we the minority that Apple could just ignore?

Were you - or was anybody here ever asked to participate in the iCloud/iWorks beta or did you just log into iCloud one day and the beta apps were already in place?

It is being suggested to me that I willingly signed up for this beta testing and as far as I recall, I just logged into iCloud.com one day and the beta apps were there.

I used started using the Beta when the new icons (beta version) appeared. I did NOT sign up for the beta, just started using it once it was available since there was no other choice.

One new thing I am noticing now is that if I send an email from iCloud sucessfully, it does not show in my 'Sent' folder. I am going to do more testing, but as of now, I have no item in 'Sent' on iPad, iPhone or iCloud. I clicked the manual refresh as well just to be sure and it goes through the motions, but says there is nothing there.

Looking back through my messages I see that on July 23 I received an email from iCloud <noreplay@icloud.com> as follows:

We’ll soon be introducing a new and exciting feature to iCloud. It’s called iWork for iCloud and it’s a suite of apps — Pages, Numbers, and Keynote — that make it easy for anyone with an iCloud account to create and edit great-looking documents, spreadsheets, and presentations right on the web.

We’d like to invite you to be one of the first to try it, so we’re giving you early access to the iWork for iCloud beta. All you have to do is sign in to iCloud on a Mac or a PC using the current version of Safari, Chrome, or Internet Explorer. Then just click on Pages, Numbers, or Keynote and you’re off.

We’re really proud of these apps and we’d appreciate your help in making them as great as they can possibly be. So we’d love to hear your feedback as you use them.

Sign in to iCloud.com to get started with iWork for iCloud today.

Sincerely,

The iWork Team

I don't remember being interested at the time. I didn't use any of the iWork apps. Later on noticed them on iCloud.com (my account there goes way back to the mac-dot-com days or whatever it was called, with the iDisk and all that) and gave Numbers a try, liked what I saw, and bought Numbers for Mac and for iOS. It was a big change from Excel, but I was very happy with it, the syncing between my devices being the killer feature for me. I sure feel like a fool now!

I'd reiterate what's already been pointed out here before. The iWork for iCloud is beta. The syncing of iWork Mac and iOS apps via iCloud's documents and data protocol is not beta. I, and it seems most others here, have been locked out of both.

I could not have stated this any better and you are correct with regard to what I am seeing. I am locked out of the apps and locked out of syncing as well.

I was being told by some ( in another discussion) that I had to agree to use the iWorks beta and must have received the email that you are talking about. As bad as my memory is, I am quite sure that I never received that email. One day I logged into iCloud.com and only the beta versions of the iWorks app appeared.

I copied this from the other discussion that I am referencing here and this seems to reinforce things as I remember them to be.

Apple opens iWork for iCloud beta to all users ahead of expected public release this fall

After first announcing its new iWork for iCloud productivity suite back in June at WWDC, Apple has been slowly rolling out access to more people ahead of a public beta release scheduled for this fall. It first extended the privilege to developers, then Apple employees, and in July started sending out invites to select non-developers. Today, several tips note that Apple now appears to be letting in anyone with an Apple ID despite not sending out invites or officially announcing a public beta.

So to get the email invite I must have been in a class of "select non-developers"😀. Maybe I qualified because I'd been using (and paying for) the stuff since iDisk. Perhaps just clicking any one of the iWork icons in iCloud implies consent (maybe there was even a pop-up to that effect; don't remember that, but it's possible.) In any case that was and is clearly marked beta, so we use at our own risk. But locking us out of the syncing of iWork apps on Mac and iOS (as well as other apps that use iCloud's documents and data) .... that is clearly another story.

Absolutely. I also found another discussion where a few users realized that they were now able to use the beta without being asked or invited. It just appeared in iCloud.com one day when they logged in.

My point here is that if you wanted to continue to use the iWorks apps - like I had been doing for months and months - I was now being directed into the beta whether I wanted to use the beta or not. There just was no other option any longer. And since there is still no other opinion and it is still in the Beta, that is really crappy on Apples part. They removed something that worked and replaced it with something that isn't very stable and gave us no choice if we wanted to coninue to use the iWorks apps in iCloud.com.

PROBLEM ADDRESSED !!!

I had the same issues with everyone had, but after the update of ios 7.0.2, everything is back to normal for me. I high recommend everybody should have tried to update your devices to 7.0.2 to address the issues. Now, all my files will sync to icloud as well as I can log into iWork apps on icloud.com

hope this would help.

Cheers
