iPhone iOS 7; wrong Apple ID

I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7. Find my iPhone was set up using an old Apple ID (one that I don't have the password to anymore). I cannot log out of iCloud, turn of Find my iPhone or use the correct Apple ID. Does anyone know how to fix this problem since I do not have my old Apple ID password? Also, does anyone know why -when updating to iOS 7- my phone reverted to an old Apple ID?

Thanks!

hi! I bought an active iphone 4s and now, after a year of use I did update the software, but I do not know apple id from the previous user, the same can not be contacted, and my apple id can not be activated because the iphone tells me that is not associated with my account already with someone else. What do I do with my currently inactive and not usable iPhone???

any help?? please??

I disagree; there are always options providing the phone is legally yours -

Google "downgrade your ios" and return your phone to a version which had worked, give it a try.

If the phone is truley yours take it in to an Apple Store where they can do just about anything. If it is a stolen phone then go by an new one that is ligit and report the person who sold you that phone.

Activation Lock is tied to the hardware ID of the device itself - you can try any hack, downgrade, j'break or anything else you care to think of and it will not bypass activation lock. The whole point and design of Activation Lock is to ensure that any such attempts cannot work and to thus force the requirement to know the appropriate password to de-activate the lock.

millions of people facing same problem in every origin of this world n i think apple has made a serious trouble for there users.there are many countries in world which are low in education n people didnt have sense when they buy a iphone used they must release the handset from that user, how could b it possible in this type of community.i hope that apple will grant the solution to it or they must unmask the user id at activation so people have many chances to active there iphone by contacting at that email.i m sure it will work.

No millions of people didn't buy stolen or lost phones, jst tell me if there is no apple genuine shop in country like Pakistan so from where people buy new iphones!mostly they will buy used phones n if they got activation problem where will they go n prove it that it's not stolen bcoz most phones are not in stolen mode not in lost mode.we have no apple store here!not every body knows how to contact them online!if u contact them no positive response yet.most of iphones are at iOS 6 n when we update to ios 7 it stucks at activation.every phone is not stolen, previous user didn't remove it from icloud n normally people were unaware of iOS 7 speciality! At last thanks to apple that down mostly iphones in Pakistan
