iPhone iOS 7; wrong Apple ID

I just updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7. Find my iPhone was set up using an old Apple ID (one that I don't have the password to anymore). I cannot log out of iCloud, turn of Find my iPhone or use the correct Apple ID. Does anyone know how to fix this problem since I do not have my old Apple ID password? Also, does anyone know why -when updating to iOS 7- my phone reverted to an old Apple ID?

Thanks!

I went to the Apple ID website and merged my primary email with my Apple ID. It was already merged, but I did it again. Then from my iphone I entered the @gmail.com part to the user ID. It worked.

Note: At first install my iphone let me use the ID but then asked for an email ID. After going to apple.com and merging the email and ID it only worked when I put it the @gmail.com during the first instance ios7 asks for the ID (the one that has space to enter you password under it). If you use the page that asks for the email version of your ID it still doesn't work, for me at least.

Edit: Whoever designed the color scheme for ios7 should be shot.

I had this same problem.

I went to settings>iCloud and then scrolled all the way down to "delete my account". It tells you that all of the documents and photos stored to photo stream would be deleted from the phone. I went ahead and deleted the account anyway since I updated only a few days ago. After I deleted the account I was able to sign in using my current Apple ID.

Had apple support help me with this:

On your computer, go to appleid.apple.com, and sign in using your current apple ID.

Once signed in, change the primary email address to the one your phone is asking you for (ie. your old apple ID), enter the password you want to use for iCloud.
Go to your iPhone --> Settings --> iCloud. Now you can enter the password for the old apple ID. Delete the account.
Go back to your laptop, change the primary email address back to the current one. Now you'll be able to enter your current apple ID and password on your device -- should be good as new!

I didn't have access to the email address it was asking me for either because mine too was no longer active. My problem was still fixed using the steps I described above... That is, I didn't need to access the old email inbox/password/etc. at all, just temporarily make it the primary email address so I could enter a new corresponding password to delete the account in the phone.

Hope that helps!

So if I understand correctly, to use the correct email address for my icloud account I have to click on "Delete account" but it gives the warning "If you delete your account, all documents stored in iCloud will be deleted from this iPad.".

But I can't backup to iCloud without logging in with the correct email address for my iCloud account. But to use my correct email address I have to delete all the documents on my iPad. All this because I changed the email on my iCloud account several months ago and used that email for a different apple account.

The apple software testers missed this one in their test plans. I guess to Err is human and nothing or nobody is perfect. But this is really annoying.

I found the password to my other appleId and I changed it to free up the email that I used to use on my present account. I then followed sarah0531's procedure and I'm pretty much back in business.

Unfortunately before I deleted the account on my iPad I turned on syncing on Task PRO but thinking back I didn't give it enough time to upload my tasks before I deleted the account. Then when I changed back the password to the correct password online and logged back into iCloud on the iPad with the new email I lost all my tasks. This really *****.

For anyone who has changed their appleID email since they got their iPhone or iPad I highly advice that you DO NOT UPGRADE to iOS7 until apple fixes this bug.

Ive tried this method of changing my primary email to the last email that my phone is registered to but io7 will not let me get past the activation screen to access the settings and delete the account and location services security. To give you a little background, I deleted my old apple id on my computer and setup a new apple id but did not do that on my phone first so the phone thinks that my old apple id still exists and is locking me out without being able to make any changes. The other kicker is that I deleted my old email as well. So I cannot recover apple id password for my old account, but doesnt matter because the store rep said, your old id doesnt even exist. although I agree that our phones should be secure, but when I take it to the store or call to apple care I would hope that they have a way to bypass this incase something like this happens to people. So Im thinking this phone is basically bricked and cannot be fixed unless you can somehow swap logic boards and we all know that its not worth it for something that is not our fault that the device cannot sync properly. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
