How to make the dock (buttom row) in IOS 7 transparent?

That is not a row, its the dock. You can't get rid of it. Its for your most used Apps and to see those same Apps apear on all the pages.

This is the way it was in previous iOS's except it had a 3D orietnation so it was less noticeable, but it was still glassy.

Its meant as a bar to be used with often used shortcuts.

There's nothing that can be done, and really when it has icons on it you still can't see the background.

Put icons on it. Then you don't notice it. And frankly, I doubt anyone agrees with you. Or at least a microscopic minority of the 400 million users of iOS.

I completely agree with OP and I'm going to try and get in contact with apple about it.

It doesn't matter if it is only a minority. The dock from iOS 6 had much better aesthetics in my opinion and it would be nice to not think that my inferior vision is constant failing when I'm at my home screen.

I completely agree about the negative aesthetics. I've been searching for a way to remove that dock all day. None of my wallpapers look right. If you figure out how to do this please let me know. As far as everyone else goes, if you don't have a solution don't waste your time calling the rest of us out. Does that make you feel better about yourself, really? No need to trivialize our complaint.

I total agree that the dock is very very urgy, hope Apply could make it transparent or introduce an optional function for us to turn it off.

I do not know actually why there is no option "dock transparency". That is strange that Apple is proudly speaking about Retina display and now covers it by such big and untransparent stripe of something. I also like the display and I am strongly dissapointed seening it painted in such blurred colors. And I do not care about algorithms that are behind it and how complicated there are. It is not working for me and happy to see for most of the community. That definitively is not a dock. I would like to make it full transparent this would be more iOS7 light style. At the dock there are icons which stay all the time at the same place, why do we need something to emphasize their meaning?

The current dock is ugly as **** and completely contradicts their supposedly "everything has to be and look as simplistics as possible" attitude.

Please get rid of this ugly dock, Apple!!!

Agreed. They should have taken a look at the Android Apex Launcher to see how to design a proper gui.

I too am not a fan. But, since the dock takes not he colors of what is behind it, the right wallpaper makes a difference. Using a photo or drawing that isn't compositionally driven helps a lot, especially if it has multiple colors in the area of the dock.

I absolutely agree with the people who do not like that dock. It *****. I am fan of all the Apple products and great user of iPhone since the first one. As soon as ios 7 is launched, I download that and the only thing that makes me crazy is the dock area. I hate that. Have spent more than 5 hours on the web to learn how to cancel that!

that's why I have just joined to Apple discussions! I have had a lot of issues but never did it before. But it really makes me crazy. Hope there will be a soltion in very near soon!..
