How to make the dock (buttom row) in IOS 7 transparent?

Hi,

I just installed IOS 7. I guess it has a few new functions, that are nice. Real life performace will tell. But there is one thing, that is making me crazy!

See the picture:

The dock (last row) for the icons is blured, messing up any nice background picture. Now you understand, why in the presentation of IOS 7, they used abstract pictures as backgroudn. Well, the question is, how do I get rid of that blur or milky last row and make it transparent?

Any help is greatly apreceated. I didn't find any settings for it in the Settings.

Thanks

PS. If any apple emplyer should be reading this, can they please pass on the error I had, while updated from IOS 6 to 7. When starting IOS 7 he wants to connect to a Wi-Fi network. That will fail, if one tries and I had to soft reset my device. Just choose to continue without Wi-Fi (ignore the message about missing internet) and my iPad used the old WiFi settings to connect to the internet.

*sigh* yes a nice feature but its not being mentioned because that's not what this discussion is about. The lock screen doesn't have anything to do with the dock now being an eyesore and reminiscent of the Windows taskbar, (which has a transparency option, might I add). If windows can do it, surely Apple can figure out what jailbreakers have known for years

I don't like this new dock, either. I had to change my wallpaper due to the changes Apple made in the color of the folders. When I selected another wallpaper, not only did it take a long time to apply, but I found that I did not have the option to change the color of the dock. It seems to assign its own color scheme and unfortunately, I do not like the color it selects. I have a dark blue wallpaper with stars or speckles and the dock is now a strange shade of light blue which is not the look I am trying to achieve.

I took your advice and submitted feedback to Apple. Hopefully more people will do that and something will get changed.

And to all who think the dock and icons are UGLY, I agree and if you look at other posts, you will see there are more than just a few of us out there that agree with this. They need to be able to be changed in color or at least made clear so we can see our wallpaper pictures.

Hi All,

I like so many here hate that horrible looking dock. It amazes me that they can change the lockscreen to give the full screen affect and then bugger the home screen with a dirty grey box. Its even in folders when you open them....Im putting it down to a monday morning job and hope they amend it or at least give customers the option to de-activate it/change colour/transparency.

BUT I GUESS WE CAN ONLY HOPE!!!!!

1.- I hate the dock.. it just looks anoying, I shouldn't need to change my wallpaper to suit the dock I should be able to modify the doc to suit my wallpaper, I think what users want is the possiblity to customize things as they please.

2.- having to change my mac 10.5.9 to a windows pc to upgrade to ios7 was the worst thing ever. not because itunes on 10.5.9 will not even give me the option to upgrade to ios7 or the fact that I loose control of my phone in my own computer but because now I have to use my wife's computer every time I want to put music on my phone. Apple totaly fail supporting old systems. I have 10.6 but I choose not to install it because it just makes my computer really slow (but that is another story)

Yea, + 1 on getting rid of the lame gray dock bar that is 2 inches thick. Also these app buttons are gargantuanly huge! Time to let the user adjust these things. It amazes me that a company of this market cap puts out this garbage. I can't even resize my photos for wallpaper. I'm left with wallpaper photos that are way to magnified. The bugs and lack of aesthetics in this release are unconscionable. Steve is rolling over in a big way.

In my opinion the iOS7 was designed to match only iPhone devices. The dock on 5th generation does not look very bad, only normal and does not bring your attention to it. Also when you look at the Music on iPad why do we have to scroll tons of it to get what you want to listen at the moment? Even iPhone4 has a better solution. Is that so difficult to design different solutions between the devices you use for different purposes? I think that is a handicap when you do not use advantages coming from a bigger screen on iPad. In the iPad case the better is the enemy of the good if you think about some iOS7 new look.

Hi, did anyone who complained to Apple get an answer? I didn't receive any emails from Apple till this day.

Further in other internet forums, you can edit the original posting. It seems this is not possible here. I would like to update the original posting summarizing, that there is no solution but to use an already blurry background, like the dynamic backgrounds, so that one does not notice the changes of the (new) ugly dock so much.

Best regards
