Thank you Sam-fisher! Followed your procedure and finally got iMessage & FaceTime to work again on my gen 2 iPad. No thanks to iOS 7.0.4!

Thank you so much! I tried this and it worked right away!🙂
Had the same problem on ipad 4, no facetime and no imessage. Turned out to be date, time and location were wrong in settings. Set them to correct settings and everything is working now.
🙂
Thank you thank you thank you!! Worked perfectly, took 5 minutes without lengthy back up etc.! It was doing my head in trying to find solutions.

Hi. My iMessage was working perfectly all the time untill the last week or 2. It keeps saying "waiting for activation" and also in the send&receive (where it SHOULD let you tick either your mobiel number or your email address), mine is ticked on my email address and my mobile number is in grey and will not let me tick it. Can ANYONE help me? Its so annoyin...I can still send iMessages but my email address comes up on the recipients phone when i send them an iMessage which is annoying! Iv reset my wifi/network settings and it didnt work.. Tried resetting time/date settings and it didnt work..
Any suggestions PLEASE..?? 🙂

Okay, so my iMessage wasn't working so I tried the "Reset Network Settings" thing and it didn't work. I took out my SIM card, it didn't work, I turned my phone off and on and it still didn't work. Then I remembered I changed the Date and Time so I could continue to play Candy Crush and then it worked.
*MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DATE AND TIME*
I had the same network problem message on the ipod 5th g, and tried many of the above. What finally worked was enabling Location services under the privacy tab in settings. I switched them on, and Imessage booted up first time. Hope this helps.
Ive already tried that. It didn't work. I have an iPad mini iOS7. Someone plz help me this has been going on for a month now. Apple plz sort this out!!!
