IOS 7 wifi issue

Downloaded iOS 7 last night on my 4S. It will not stay connected to home WiFi. iPad and MacBook are fine.

I have been following this discussion topic since almost day one and this is the first time I've seen this suggestion. Thanks. I only regret that I'm not home or near any wifi spot to try it out. But I'll check into this as soon as I get home. (crossing my fingers)
In the meantime, I have an appointment this afternoon at Apple Genius Bar to address this very problem. This will be my 2nd visit to Apple. The 'genius' I spoke with yesterday told me to do a complete reset and then set it up as a new iPhone instead of restoring from backup. She did the reset in the store and then we restored it from iCloud. Unfortunately when I got home to a wifi, there was no difference. My problem is not accessing wifi, but maintaining the connection. So I will keep this in mind this afternoon and try it was soon as I return home.

Really, do you even realize how ridiculous this sounds ?! ..."putting the iPhone in the refrigerator..." seriously ?!!..

Android users and guys at Samsung must be laughing sensless...

It is not the device, nor the router, it is just a software bug and will be fixed soon via a patch. Don't try to fix it yourselves, it's not your job.

Anyways, I had a different problem today... Without doing absolutelly nothing out of the ordinary, I noticed that iMessage could not send anything, only receive texts. I had a queue of 11 unsent messages, with no error, they just hanged there waiting to be sent. I have also tried WhatsApp, same story...messages could not be sent and I got no feedback whatsoever. Anything else worked fine Safari could send data both ways, Find iPhone could find all the devices, everything worked fine. I have switched the airplane mode on and off, still no changes. It only came back to normal after resetting network settings.

This happened while I was at work, on a Vodafone 3G network full bars (dots) signal using an iPhone 4S.

Did something like this ever happened to any of you ?!

(probably there is a topic on this somewhere but I did not care to look)

Angoasa... Of course I realize how ridiculous it is! I didn't even try to refrigerator thing until 4 days after I read it because it sounded crazy. However, it seems the 4s gets to warm and does not stay connected. I don't know what "Renew Lease" has to do with overheating and I really don't care. What I do know is that my 4s is STILL working.

I have had the same issue, went to Apple Store, got new phone....same issue. After several calls to Apple Support was ready to pull my hair out, but the last tech I talked to asked about my router. I said it works fine with everything else in the house including my wife's Iphone (4s, same as mine) and my daughters Iphone 5. My wife has not upgraded to ios7, as she has seen my frustration. He said to take on last shot and see if there was any firmware updates available for my netgear router. After loading my IP and going to the router settings, there was an update available. I downloaded it and shazam!!!! It works!!!! Only took 4 four calls and one trip to the Apple Store....

Hope this works for anyone with the same issues, because I swear it was ios7 causing the problems, and was waiting for a patch....

So, my wifi is frozen again, tried everything even resetted and formatted phone.

No succes, ios 7.02.

Battery is drained in half a day without hardly using it.

Apple told me my phone is broken and need to get it repaired or new one.

It workes fine before that horrible update, worst customer service ever to be honest.

What to do now, wait for patch??

Need the phone working for my upcoming travels next week...

I really HATE this issue. Some days, my iPhone will connect fine to my home network. Some days, it will drop every 10 seconds. Tried everything and the only thing that works is to reboot my router. I'm NOT constantly going to reboot my router because of ONE device. This is rediculous. Care obviously does not CARE and it's all about blaming the other. sheesh, if my iMac, tablets, other misc Android devices work JUST FINE, why can't my iPhone? Like i mentioned....i'm NOT constanty going to reset my router daily because of ONE device. I have no problems replacing it.

I've tried:

Static IP

Airplane mode trick

SEVERAL RESETS

SEVERAL RESTORES

Standing on my head

Updating my updated router

Turning off all the electronics in the house

Mowing the grass because the neighbor next door mowed his and now i look out of place

Washing the car

Charging my phone

Nada, nothing.

Resetting the lease only asks the DHCP server of your router for a new IP... In most cases, you'll get the same one, it only extends the lease period. I surely do, because I have manually mapped the IPs on MAC addresses of each device I own.

I see my other problem (with the iMessage) has been addmitted by Apple and they're working on a fix.

But even if they fix iMessage, I still can't send iMessages without network now can I ?!!

We need somehow to make Apple acknowledge this issue and fix it ASAP. I can live without iMessage or screenlock, but an iPad with NO NETWORK is pretty much USELESS !!

I even found myself the other day checking the prices on the new Nexus 7 ! :(

Hey , I want to add what fixed both my Iphone 5 and iPad after the latest updates.

I tried many complicated methods, soft reset, reset network settings in airplane mode, removed apostrophe, reset privacy and location settings, reset router blah blah.

I removed apostrophe but I only had that on one device so not sure that was the ticket but can't do any harm.

Soft reset, press sleep and off button.

Then in this order I did the following.

Choose to forget your home wifi option.

General setting-reset- reset network setting

Turn off phone/iPad (I was doing this on BOTH devices at the same time and it fixed both!)

Turn off router for 5 mins.

Power up phone/iPad and router together but soon as you turn router on hit reset.

Rejoin the network on your devices and add password.

For me, for both devices it fixed the problem.

I was stuck for days with no wifi and trying various methods were useless, can't believe some people put their phone in the freezer but hey, whatever you want!!!

Don't skip a step as outlined above.

Reset that router as soon as you turn it on along with the apple devices before they start searching for it.

And it worked when nothing else would for both devices that were clearly affected by iOS 7 updates.

Do it in that order and I hope you also find you don't need to hard reset or freeze then blow dry your devices!!

Let me know if it worked for anyone!! Fingers x'd for you all!!!
