Wifi greyed out on iphone 4s with ios 7

In the list there's no "iPhone 4s" but "iPhone 4 Verizon". I think is the specification about some hardware inside.

Already try. Not working with 7.0.4

my problems started after I upgraded to 704. I have no problems before expect for the batterylife, but now I cant do anything with it. the wifi, the freezings, batterylife, bluetooth. I have tried hard restore few times and it doesnt even help. I dont know what should i do!!

Get a local tech to replace your wi-fi chip. Solves the problem for certain.

Go to your router configuration and check to see if MAC address filtering is enabled. IOS 7.0.4 doesn't like it. I could see my network but not attach to it until I disabled that feature in my router configuration.

i tried the dryer method and it totally worked for me, i have wifi for now. lets see what happens in the future, cant say that I am not disappointed with apple. it is very wierd how this method words. thank you guys for helping.

hey guys. i had a problem with my wifi greyed out since ios 6. when i was upgraded my ios to ios7 the problem is not solved. but yesterday i've found a tutorial on youtube about how to fix wifi greyed out on ios7. then i tried it. guess what? it worked. first, you have to make your device over warm with hairdryer until the warning message comes out and then just put your device in freezer within 30 minutes. but dont forget to put in on plastick bag. I'm using 4s too. As long as you didn't reset your network settings, your wifi wouldn't go back to greyed out anymore. Sounds silly but it works for me :) goodluck!

So right now my wife's has no wif and I am stuck at 7.0.2...so what do I do now, leave it or update it? Am I stuck at 7.0.2 forever in fear that I will loose my wifi and battery life? What about those who have a 4s and don't update to ios7? How long does the phone survive with all the apps set up for and designed ios7...not 6?

Apple has to know that the software update is disabled. I called them did their trouble shooting with no fix. They said that they would give me a discount for a new phone. 199 wow. So I did some digging . I fixed my grated out wifi issue with a blow dryer. I used the blow dryer to over heat the phone until it have te over heated message. Then I turned it off and out it in the freezer for 10 min. After I turned it back on boom my wifi wasn't grayed out any more and my phone works fine! Do it save money!

This issue is a software based issue. They have to know this is an issue. I have well had the same issue and I fixed the issue after Apple told me to buy a new phone.

No, it is not a software issue. If it was a software issue then placing it in the freezer and/or heating it up would have no effect. (Do you think the hair dryer is re-programming the code?) It is a hardware issue that can be _temporarily_ fixed, in some cases, by thermally stressing the phone.

If it helps, think of a slightly loose wifi chip. (Not that this is the actual issue, it's just an example) It works fine until it's stressed by a lot of usage (like, say, downloading an iOS update?), then it un-seats itself and stops working. Heating or freezing the phone causes the insides to expand/contract, thereby slightly re-seating the chip and causing it to work again.... until it gets too hot and unseats itself again.

SOFTWARE GLITCH!! HERES WHY! Basically, I changed the WiFi chip on my phone to a brand spanking new one. Everything was good! WiFi was working perfectly! Then, I lost signal. Turned my phone off and on. Next thing you know, GREYED WIFI!!! *** APPLE?! Sort it out! All this within 2 miniutes. Explain that!
