iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I have a Prius and the a steering wheel controls stopped working after updating to iOS 7. I can't play the next or previous song which is pretty annoying because I have to grab my phone and look for the next/previous button while driving! It was working fine with iOS 6.

I believe this is a bug. Anyone else having the same issue?

2011 Toyota Highlander with Bluetooth, but no NAV

Works 100% flawlessly with my BlackBerry Z10, iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.6 is a whole other story.. I can get Bluetooth Audio working, but anything phone related won't pair. Apple has known about this issue for some time, clearly they don't care about the safety of their customers if they would identify and fix something as serious as a HANDSFREE ISSUE with their latest OS software.. what a joke.

all I get is "Searching... Searching..."

or if i try to use the existing Bluetooth Audio connection

"Pairing Unsuccessful" "Make sure "Car Multi-Media" is turned on, in range, and is ready to pair"

I've had so many issues with iPhone 5, battery issues, having to replace a battery just under a year, signal quality far worse then iPhone 4 and 4S... and now this... my next phone will not be an Apple product.

Still the same concern than below with my new iPhone 5C with last iOS 7.0.6

Connect my iPhone 5C to my car (BMW X5 from 2008 with Bluetooth : Bluelogic BT-BMW01) and using waze app with voice via bluetooth.

The first few minutes it works ok and the voice is heard on the car speakers over Bluetooth. After a certain time the turn-by-turn directions is not heard any more over bluetooth.

When it happens, I launch the control center and the music player is playing music (position play). If I pause the music, the turn by turn works again over bluetooth. This problem can repeat several times during the trip.

Another concern to notice : the bluetooth is not perfetly synchronised with the turn by turn indications (bluetooth launching a bit after the turn by turn indication starts) leading to missing words in the indications ....

Bluetooth works ok for phone calls on iOS.

My car integrated bluetooth works without problem with other phones (non iOS). The chipset of my car bluetooth (Bluelogic BT-BMW01) is Parrot CK5050new.

please apple guys, check this issue and resolve in the next release.

To fix that issue: when you pair the phone you should see a option not to control iphone music.. If your x5 doesn't have a screen to select that option not sure how to desable it.. You may want to look for an option on that.. Also if u want have the option of music then this is not on option for you as well.. The problem is that you trying to used a NAVIGATION AUDIO AS A TURN BY TURN GUIDE which is not intended for that, and it may have work before but APPLE complete mess the hole Bluetooth up with the release of ios 7.0.x and one of the issues is that the music app was added the apple radio within.. They should had build as a diffrent as entity. But as you may know apple doesn't get anything right nore do they care for other devices you may be using. Infact if u call them they will tell you call BMW cause it's there problems even when it's clearly APPLE doing.. Honestly I had purchase this iphone 5s but this will be my last iphone purchase, to many issues and they blame others. I have a 2013 x3 and up to date this have some minor issues and apple still blames BMW BUT I KNOW IS THE BUILD IN RADIO WITHIN THE MUSIC APP that's causing the problem.

Sorry to randol on but just mad as well.. Hope some of the initial input helps you!

I have a 2012 VW Jetta with the 9w7 Bluetooth interface, touchcreen radio with MDI and Bluetooth audio and an iPhone 5. Sometimes the controls for itune tracks appear on the touchscreen, and sometimes I have to use the phone. It seems that if I have the phone set to itunes with the song actually playing when I crank my car, the controls will show up (most of the time) but if not it doesn't. Occassionally, it won't show them even with the music is playing and I crank the car. It's a Pain. Is there anyway to make this consistently work?

Rplatan, there is no way around that, it's due to the way apple design the ios 7.x.x. But you are right always end up your last even with music app when you want your car to pickup your music. Otherwise it will not work. Infact lest say you last event was on your phone that you watch a YouTube video and didn't fully close it, then your car will pick up that last sound and u will hear the sound from that video.. But u can just shut of ( the video) and open music up and will work. Apple wanted to add radio to the music app and this is causing so many issues with Bluetooth devices.

I have a 2014 Subaru crosstrek. Ever since I upgraded past iOS 7.0, my iPhone 5s will not reconnect to the car. Once the car is turned off , the only way to reconnect the phone to it is by repairing. This does not happen on any of my headphones nor my stereo at home, nor my kenwood head in my truck. Subaru claims iOS is not Bluetooth compliant. All I know is iOS 7 is horrible. Aside from security holes, it crashes many times a day. I have reinstalled, to no avail. Apple's attention to detail died with Jobs.

Similar problem here: I have my iPhone5 (running iOS 7.1) paired via Bluetooth with my 2014 Honda CR-V audio system. After I make or receive a phone call, or receive a text message, the last song selected on my music app or podcast resumes playing, even though I was not listening to it before the phone call or text message came in. Same symptom when I first get into the car and it makes a Bluetooth connection to my phone. The music track or podcast will start playing even if none was playing before the connection was established. The only way I have found to stop the music/podcast is to turn off the power to the audio system on the dashboard.

well, after nothing but problems with the iPhone 5 since new.. i think it's time to think about dumping it and pre-ordering the Galaxy S5.

battery issue, swapped phones less then a month old ($free)

battery issue, swapped battery just over 1 year old ($89)

Bluetooth doesn't even follow proper standards

Cell network issues constantly where I need to turn on airplane mode, and then turn it off before web browsing will work

Cell network strength is lower then iPhone 4 and 4S

definitely a lot more issues, but i don't even care to type any more.. this product has sucked from day 1.. Can I have my $899 I paid for an unlocked 64 GB back please.

Well...after I updated to IOS 7.1, my Bluetooth worked for 4 days, then just stopped and I'm back where I started when I first upgraded to IOS 7. I have a iPhone 5, but I'm definately looking to move over to Android. I like the Nexus 5 phone, but I heard Google is coming out with the Nexus 6 soon, so I'll wait for that. I just don't understand how Apple could let something like this go unfixed for so long. The problem is some things like Audible are better on the iPhone than Android and it ***** I may have to quit the iPhone, but I can't use my iPhone in my car anymore to make and receive calls via BT, whilr my daughter's LG phone works perfectly for that.
